We got a call that this shower pan was leaking out into the bathroom floor...

The people who set this shower originally had pitched some of the tile backwards, and the craftsmanship was pretty bad. And it's a shame because this was some really nice tile.

This client just wanted a functioning guest shower that didn't make a mess, so we took the old pan out, tied in the new pan with the shluter kerdi system and a vario drain.

I never fully enjoy doing pan replacements because I end up showing the work of the guy before me, and having to tie into shoddy work hurts my brain because I know I can make it look better if we just rebuilt the entire thing. However that was not in the budget for this one.

Its all good though, now this client has a fully functional shower that they don't have to mop up every time they use it, so that's a win 👍

How to get perfectly plumb and flat walls

This works really good with go board if you shim every 3 feet or less, and it works with kerdi board if you do every 2 feet because it's not as rigid as go board.

This saves a lot of time versus marking every 6-8 inches and using a lot less shims!

And don't forget, you still need to screw them in the next day after the thinset dries!

Installed a header over our niche

Installed some of our go board

Built bench and curb out of 2 inch kerdi board

And most importantly we got our mud floor and drain installed so that we can get that shower floor in tomorrow 💪
