Bryan A. Roethle

Bryan Anthony Roethle, age 68, passed away unexpectedly August 7, 2026, as the result of a motorcycle accident.

Bryan was born July 17, 1958 to Lawrence and Ann Roethle. He had a lifelong passion for the open road and spent many summer days putting miles on his bike, often using his travels to visit family and friends. In his younger years, he was also an avid snowmobiler.

Known for his pleasant personality and love of telling jokes, Bryan was a dependable friend and brother who was always there to lend a hand. He had a special gift for connecting with others, whether that meant visiting and brightening the day of the elderly, or sharing his deep passion for Jesus and spreading His message.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bryan is survived by his siblings: Bruce (Sylvia) Roethle, Jess Roethle, Laura (Rick) Konop and Lisa Smits; along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Lawrence "Blitz" Roethle; his sister Jayne Roethle; sister-in-law, Colleen Roethle; and a brother-in-law, Pat Smits.

A visitation for Bryan will be held at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State Street in Mishicot on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tisch Mills.

Claudia F. Gilbert

Claudia F. Gilbert, age 81, died unexpectedly on July 28, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Memphis, TN on April 26, 1945, to Claude and Mary Brooks. Claudia graduated with the class of 1964 from Treadwell High School in Memphis. She was united in marriage to George Gilbert in Two Rivers, the two shared many wonderful years of marriage together.

Claudia found great joy in the outdoors, where she loved watching and listening to the wildlife and critters around her home. She and George shared many memorable trips to Michigan, spending days fishing, hunting, and enjoying time at the lake.

A devoted dog lover, Claudia adored her two gentle giants, Yogi and Boo Boo, who brought her endless happiness. When she wasn’t outdoors or spending time with her dogs, Claudia also enjoyed shopping and had a way of always finding the best bargains.

Claudia deeply loved her daughter, Andrea. She never missed a day to talk with her or take a small trip to go spend time with her. She always held Andrea near and dear to her heart.

Above all, Claudia was incredibly proud of her grandson, Evan, for graduating from the police academy. She was always his biggest cheerleader, celebrating his accomplishments and supporting him every step of the way.

Claudia will be greatly missed by her husband, George; daughter, Andrea Hofreiter; and her grandson, Evan; along with many friends here in Two Rivers as well as friends in Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Mary Brooks.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no funeral services held.

Arthur "Art" Dietrich

Arthur “Art” Dietrich, resident of Harborview Assisted Living, Manitowoc, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026 at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

Art was born in Manitowoc on July 31, 1935, to Arthur and Clara (Bogenschutz) Dietrich. He attended grade school at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Clarks Mills and St. Patrick’s Catholic School, Maple Grove, and graduated from Reedsville High School with the class of 1953. Art served his country for 6 years – 2 years active duty, 2 years Reserves, and 2 years Standby Reserves as a member of the U.S. Army. On October 8th, 1958, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth “Betty” Ebert at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Betty preceded him in death in April of 2025. He was a lifetime member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. Art and Betty were blessed with 6 children.

Art started work as a factory worker with Hamilton Industries, and over his 43 years of employment he moved up to supervisor for the majority of those years until his retirement.

Art coached his sons in the summer baseball league for a few years. He enjoyed his yearly deer camp as a part of the “Old Guys Camp” from his early years with his dad, a few brothers, and good friends. He passed his love of hunting onto his sons, who are now members of the “Young Guys Camp.” Hunting was not his only passion, as he enjoyed fishing as well. Whether it was on Long Lake, Bullhead Lake – it didn’t matter – he was just happy to get his boat in the water. The boat was not always needed – there were many trips down a field to the river to catch “suckers,” which were brought home, cleaned, and canned by Mom. Needless to say, the family never went hungry.

His love for the outdoors showed as he was also a lifetime member of the Whitelaw Sportsman’s Club and the Manitowoc County Fish and Game. After holding many different positions in each, he was inducted into the Manitowoc County Conservationist Hall of Fame in 1996.

Art and Betty were also avid campers for many years, starting with a pop-up and graduating to a travel trailer. They truly enjoyed going to the Hodag in Rhinelander and passed that enjoyment on to their children and grandchildren.

Art also enjoyed the monthly “Card Club” with friends – where the men played sheepshead and the women played Royal Rummy.

Art loved his family and looked forward to any visitors that stopped in to say “hi!”

Survivors include his five children and their spouses: Jeff (Janel) Dietrich, Donald (Barb) Dietrich, Gary (Beth) Dietrich, Lisa (Dan) Lensmire, and Kim (Todd) Schneider; seven grandchildren: Alyssa (Jim) Clarke, Emily (Nick) Jubert, Jacob Dietrich (fiancée Joyce), Joshua (Amy) Dietrich, Matthew (Melissa) Lensmire, Michael Lensmire, and Maria (Jacob) Wittmann; nine great-grandchildren: Easton and Addison Clarke; Rorie Jubert, Trenton and Carson Dietrich; Cole, Hayes, and Bodie Lensmire; and Luca Wittmann. He is further survived by sisters-in-law: Judy and Claire Dietrich, as well as sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Barb and Paul Wallander, Joe Welch, Betty and Tom Ebert, Dan and Barb Ebert, and Ruth Noack.

In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Margaret Ebert; Baby Son, and great-grandson Landyn Lensmire; six brothers and three sisters-in-law: Robert Dietrich, Charlie (Florence) Dietrich, Larry (Joan) Dietrich, Jerry (Delores) Dietrich, Leo Dietrich, and John Dietrich; four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Baby Lois Ann Dietrich, Sister Lois Ann, Dorothy (Alfred) Hoffman, and JoAnn (Scotty) Eiles; and Betty’s family – four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law: Jack Ebert, Eddie Ebert, Jim (Audrey) Ebert, Russell (Evelyn) Ebert, and Margaret Welch.

Funeral services will be held at 12 o’clock noon, Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whitelaw. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by his nephew, Rev. Bill Hoffman, assisted by Deacon Randy Jaeckels. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Maple Grove at a later date. Military graveside honors will be accorded at the church immediately following the mass.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Tuesday morning from 9:30 until 11:45 a.m. There will be no Monday evening visitation.

Mildred "Millie" Stegemann

Mildred “Millie” G. Stegemann, age 100, longtime resident of Two Rivers, entered eternal life on Wednesday morning, July 15, 2026 at Meadow View Assisted Living of Two Rivers.

Millie was born in Hammond Bay, Michigan on July 1, 1926 to Reginald and Mary (Smith) Flewelling. She graduated high school in Michigan, and on June 28, 1947 married Dale W. Stegemann in Ludington, Michigan. Dale preceded her in death October 2nd, 1992. Millie was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Two Rivers; she worked for Schwartz Mfg. for 30 years until her retirement; and was a member of the Two Rivers Senior Center, and served on the health board at the Two Rivers Rec Department for many years.

Survivors include her children: Allan Stegemann, Leigh (Judith) Stegemann, and Lisa (Craig) Schuler; her grandchildren: Sara Stegemann (friend, Robert Gronke), Megan Muenzenmeyer Stegemann (husband, Brian), Sam Stegemann (Holly Wery), Erik Stegemann, Tristan Schuler (friend, Claire Bergman), Corey Schuler (friend, Kelsey Hecker), Taylor Schuler; and great-grandchildren: Cole Claudel, Max Muenzenmeyer, Jack Muenzenmeyer, Ben Muenzenmeyer, and Henry Muenzenmeyer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; daughter-in-law, Mary Lawyer Stegemann; and her siblings: Connie (Keith) Watson, Harold (Ruth) Flewelling, Faye Joy (Leonard) Jankowiak, and Reggie (Betty) Flewelling.

David V. Hartwig

David V. Hartwig, 89, of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026.

David was born on August 25, 1936, in Cecil, Wisconsin, to Emil and Dora Hartwig.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army before returning home to build a life centered on family, hard work, and serving his community.

On May 9, 1970, David married the love of his life, Jean Schmidt. Together they shared more than 56 years of marriage, raising a family and creating countless memories.

He was a proud father and a devoted grandfather to many grandchildren and was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous pride and joy.

David had a lifelong passion for automobiles. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing cars and later found freedom on the open road riding his Harley-Davidson. He was an exceptional mechanic who could fix nearly anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors. Whether it was repairing an engine or solving a mechanical problem, David’s knowledge and craftsmanship were second to none.

An entrepreneur at heart, David owned and operated Riverview Auto Sales until 1991. He then continued doing what he loved as a salesman at Pietroske GM, where he worked until his retirement in 2007. His honesty, friendly personality, and genuine care for others earned the respect of customers and coworkers alike.

David also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, taking pride in a job well done, and relaxing with a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon. He will be remembered for his quick wit, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Jean Hartwig; his sons, Vernon Hartwig of Green Bay, David (Tammy) Hartwig Jr. of Mishicot, Jeff (Amy) Hartwig of Stuart, Florida, and Dan (Tressie) Hartwig of Two Rivers; grandchildren, Derrick (Stacey) Hartwig, Tarra (Andy) Van-Schyndel, Dayna (Matt) Peroutka, Sawyer Hartwig, Callyn Hartwig, Conner Hartwig, Cassandra Hartwig; several great-grandchildren, with another on the way — due in October; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Dale (JoAnne) Schmidt, and Joy Hartwig; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Dora Hartwig; his brothers, Kenneth and Roger Hartwig; and his sisters, Joan (Elmer) Werbelow, Ethel Lemberger, and Ruth (Orville) Hartleben.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2140 34th Street, Two Rivers. Rev. Keith Tullberg will preside at the service. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Military Honors will be accorded immediately after the service outside of the church by members of American Legion Post # 165 and VFW Post # 1248 of Two Rivers.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Hamilton Home in Two Rivers and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and dignity they provided to David during his final days. Eugene "Gene" Bloedorn

Eugene F. "Gene" Bloedorn, age 87 of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, July 5, 2026 at St. Mary's Home in Manitowoc.

Gene was born in Brillion, WI on March 10, 1939 to Vera Bloedorn. He was a 1957 graduate of Brillion High School where he excelled in several sports, then proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, having served in Korea. On May 10, 1973 he was united in marriage to Patricia Coenen in Waukegan, Illinois. The couple was blessed with 53 years of marriage. Throughout his working career, Gene worked as a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker. He was employed for several years with the Ariens Company of Brillion; he was owner/operator of Estran Corp. in Two Rivers; and retired from Fox Valley Tool & Die. In his younger days, Gene enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing many rounds of golf. He was a huge sports fan, and in his later years enjoyed watching many sporting events on TV.

Gene is survived by his wife, Pat; six children: Dean (Dana Slowiak Bloedorn) Bloedorn, Susan Kramer, Brenda Wiegert, Judy Sleger (special friend, Bruce Steinhauer), Nan (Mike) Saduske, and Jim Bloedorn (special friend, Cheryl Goodman); his grandchildren: Samantha (Kyle) Annen, Jamie (Dan) Breunig, Brittany (Bobby) Rewolinski; Alex Nixon, T.J. (Falila) Nixon, Margaret Nixon, Katherine Nixon (Jake); Alexis and Brooke Wiegert; Caitlin (Mark) Behncke, Courtney Kleist; Daniel, Ashley and Zachary Bloedorn, and Jordan Cox; along with 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Bloedorn.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 24th at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street in Two Rivers. Rev. Dave Pleier will preside at the service, with burial at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside honors will be accorded at the funeral home immediately following the service by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers.

Denelle (Yelmene) Kappelman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our daughter, Denelle Kappelman, age 36, of Two Rivers, WI, who passed away peacefully at home Friday, July 3, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Denelle was born on August 15, 1989 in Two Rivers to her loving parents Michael and Mary Yelmene. She graduated from Two Rivers High School in 2008 before pursuing her bachelor's degree at ITT Technical Institute. She then progressed in her career in project management, contributing her skills to various companies in the Green Bay and Appleton regions.

Denelle was a dedicated mother, daughter, sister, and a beloved friend to many. She will always be remembered for her radiant smile and vibrant personality. She cherished moments spent with her son, family gatherings, occasional baking sessions with the women of the family, turkey hunting—despite her limited patience for it—countless UTV trail rides, and her passion for volleyball.

She will be deeply missed by her parents, Michael “Motch” and Mary Yelmene; former husband, Kasey Kappelman and their beloved son, Liam Kappelman; brothers, Skylar Yelmene and significant other Jessica, Wyatt Yelmene and significant other Brianna; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her.

All who loved her are welcome to attend a celebration of her life on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at West Shore Sportsman’s Club, 11267 Lakeshore Road, Two Rivers.

Richard "Dick" J. Klinkner

Richard "Dick" J. Klinkner, 75, passed away on July 4, 2026.

Dick was born on April 13, 1951, to Jerry and Delories (Zahorik) Klinkner. On June 24, 1972, he married the love of his life, Nancy L. Wilsmann. Together they shared 54 years of marriage, building a life centered on family, community, hard work, and countless cherished memories.

Dick attended St. Andrew's School in Manitowoc and later St. Mark's School in Two Rivers. He graduated from Roncalli High School in 1969 as a member of the school's inaugural graduating class. During his school years, he enjoyed athletics, participating in both football and track.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Dick partnered with his father in owning and operating Galecki's Clothing Store. Following his time in retail, he embarked on a successful career in the insurance industry, where he built many lasting relationships through his dedication and service. During the 1980s, he also operated the RonLee and BrendaLee charter boats out of Two Rivers, combining his entrepreneurial spirit with his love of the outdoors.

Dick was deeply committed to the City of Two Rivers and proudly served on the Business and Industrial Development Committee (BIDC) and the Plan Commission. He believed in giving back to his community and took great pride in helping make Two Rivers a better place to live and work.

One of Dick's greatest passions was the Two Rivers Little League program. He could enthusiastically discuss the number of teams, the support of local sponsors, and the opportunities available to young athletes. He worked tirelessly to ensure every child had the equipment needed to play, making certain each player had a complete uniform, a glove, and cleats. He took tremendous pride in seeing local children succeed and helping create memories that would last a lifetime.

For more than 30 years, Dick and Nancy enjoyed their cottage in Townsend, Wisconsin. Their "up north" retreat became a special place for relaxation, family gatherings, and making memories. Dick loved spending time there and sharing it with those he loved.

A devoted Wisconsin sports fan, Dick could often be found cheering on the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Brewers. He was also an avid collector of coins and sports memorabilia, always appreciating the history and stories behind the items he accumulated over the years.

Above all, Dick's greatest joy was his family. He was his children's and grandchildren's biggest fan, rarely missing an opportunity to watch them participate in cross country, track, football, baseball, wrestling, basketball, and technical education activities. Whether attending events in person or watching from home, he followed their accomplishments with genuine pride. After every competition, he loved reliving the highlights, discussing key moments, and offering advice and encouragement.

During their younger years, his grandchildren fondly knew him as the operator of "Grandpa Dick's Daycare," where he happily spent countless hours caring for each of them. He especially enjoyed talking football with his grandsons, particularly college football with Justin. Even when he couldn't attend games, he was faithfully watching from home, often rewatching Whitewater football games long after the season had ended because he simply enjoyed talking about football.

Dick treasured every visit from his grandchildren. Whether they were catching up over conversation or helping with yard work, snow removal, or power washing, he valued the time spent together. His door was always open, and his family always knew they could count on him. His kindness, generosity, wisdom, and sense of humor will be deeply missed, the legacy he leaves behind will continue through the many lives he touched. For those of you who knew him best would know the significance of the first of May.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his son, Tim & Sam Klinkner, and grandchildren Maggie (Jacob), Justin, and Derek; his daughter, Kari & Kory Klein, and grandchildren Tyler and Adam; his sisters, Debbie & Tony Kissel and Jean & John Jackson; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Sharon Klinkner and Charlie and Ann Wilsmann; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Delories Klinkner; his father- and mother-in-law, Roger and Loretta Wilsmann; his brother, Jim Klinkner; and his brother-in-law, Jim Wilsmann.

Dick’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all of the doctors and nurses who took care of him during his stay, at Aurora Baycare.

Visitation for Dick will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels in Two Rivers from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A short service will follow, with burial immediately afterward at the cemetery.

David Dale Zunker

David Dale Zunker, 66, of Two Rivers passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He was born on December 28, 1959 to parents Wayne E. and Patricia A. (Naeser) Zunker. David attended St. John’s Lutheran Elementary School, L.B. Clarke Middle School, and Two Rivers High School.

As a young man, David saw and experienced much of the United States. He spent several childhood years living in Tampa, Florida, and later went to join his brother Brian living in Colorado for a stint. He also worked as a long-haul truck driver which took him to every state in the contiguous U.S. – except for Oregon. Two Rivers always remained home, however, and he always found his way back.

In his earlier years David married his first wife and had two children, Joshua and Stacy. It was while working for Imperial Eastman when David met and fell in love with Wendy Sue Luchsinger. The pair were married at the Manitowoc County Courthouse on September 16th, 1996. Together they raised their daughter Aneesha and were blessed with 29 years of marriage.

David will be remembered for his sharp wit and his ability to make anything into a joke. Though he was naturally social, he did not need to be the center of attention or control the room. Aneesha recalls him as a fiercely protective father as well. David enjoyed sports – watching the Packers, mastering golf (virtually, not on the course), and was a dual-threat lefty pitcher and power hitter as a youngster. He was a lifelong fan of Pink Floyd, and was a dedicated Trekkie who enjoyed the classic Star Trek show and movies, and continued collecting memorabilia throughout his life. He enjoyed watching various shows on the History Channel; he loved learning about history, albeit not in a school setting.

David is survived by his beloved wife: Wendy Zunker of Two Rivers; his children: Aneesha Zunker of De Pere, WI, Joshua (Andrea) Fox of Downingtown, PA, and Stacy (Philip) Fox of Reading, PA; his five grandchildren: Ethan, Anya, Natalya, Brycen, and Kaida of Pennsylvania; his siblings Steven Zunker of Marietta, GA, Brian (Debra) Zunker of Appleton, WI, and Vickie (Christopher) Donner of Neenah, WI.

David was preceded in death by both of his parents, Wayne and Patricia Zunker, his paternal grandparents Victor and Margaret Zunker, and his maternal grandparents William and Hilda Naeser.

Keith James Kaufmann

Keith James Kaufmann had every reason to live—his wife Ann (“his angel”), his four beautiful and competent daughters, his clone sons-in-law, his lively grandchildren, his many relatives, high school friends, neighbors, former colleagues, members of the religious community at St. Peter the Fisherman, . . the list is long. But as Stuart Alsop said, “A dying man has to die as a sleepy man needs to sleep.” On June 28, 2026, Keith had to take his final rest.

He was born in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, on April 14, 1962, the second child of Karl and Mary Ann (Mahlik) Kaufmann. He attended St. Mark's Elementary School and Washington High School, graduating with the class of 1980. He then earned a major degree in Management Information Systems and a minor in Accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. On August 11, 1984, he married his high school sweetheart Ann Fronk at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Initially, Keith worked for JCPenney in Milwaukee, and then for HC Prange Co., Shopko and Omni Resources in Green Bay, but in 1992 he and his brother-in-law Pat Deprey started their own successful business—Skyline Technologies, Inc. After retirement, he was a valet at St. Vincent’s Hospital, where all his wonderful and shining qualities were put to good use.

Keith is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ann; his daughters and sons-in-law Bethany and Nick Baudhuin of West De Pere, Marie Kaufmann and Daniel Moone of Colorado Springs, Emily Kaufmann of Green Bay, and Shannon and Matt (Chewy) Caelwaerts of Hobart; his grandchildren Noah, Grant and Eden Baudhuin; his brothers and their spouses Tim and Brenda Kaufmann and Bruce and Jill Kaufmann; one brother-in-law, Rick Schuh; his brothers and sisters-in-law Kip and Liz Behrendt, Mary Penglase, Barb and Doug Reamer, Julie and Pat Deprey; his godchildren: Abby Schuh, Katie Gallo, Charlie Reamer and Nathan Mahlik; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Carolyn Schuh, his parents-in-law Betty and Bernard Fronk, his brothers-in-law Jeremiah Fronk and John Penglase.

Keith was a model of how to live. He worked hard and played hard. When he wasn't building a business, he was building a sauna; when he wasn't raising a family or encouraging his grandchildren to be mischievous, he was planting a garden; when he wasn't hunting, he was making chicken booyah or corned beef with cabbage. When he wasn't boating or jet skiing, he was dreaming of owning a hang glider. Even in the ICU where he was surrounded by family and friends, his sense of humor kept the mood light. What a guy!

Keith was a God-loving man who went to mass, honored his parents, was kind, faithful, honest, and generous. Even though he was as handsome as any man in a GQ magazine, he was humble. Keith had a gift for accepting life and that included tragedy. The early deaths of his father Karl and his sister Carolyn, not to mention his own diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, could have led to a fall from grace, but instead Keith rose to grace. When his mother Mary Ann died in late December 2023, he maintained that God wanted HER for Christmas.

Keith will never really die as long as stories of him are told. See, there he is! He's biking to the next life, waving. He knows we will all follow him, each of us in our turn.

Visitation for Keith will be held on Thursday evening, July 2, 2026 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and continue Friday morning, July 3rd from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning, with burial to take place Monday at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
