Salmon Chasers

The warming weather and water temps are really starting to get the salmon going on Lake Michigan here in Two Rivers as well as other ports like Manitowoc and Sheboygan. We had some great groups over the last week from kids that have never fished salmon, to regulars that come yearly, to guys that have their own boat and were just looking to learn a few things and let someone else do all the work. We love you all. If we can keep the winds down we are gonna be putting a lot of time on the water and fish in the cooler in the month of June. We have a couple open days this week but then it gets crazy busy. Give us a holler if you want to get out. If I’m booked I’ll still find ya a boat to get out on.

Well it’s been a good start to the 2026 season for us on the Salmon Chasers boat out of Two Rivers. There is a lot of bait in the harbor and the warmer shallow water near shore, and that has the salmon and trout we are after coming in to feed. As typical, you don’t have to be in those thick pods of bait competing with the real thing to get bites, so find the outside edge and you should have some luck. It’s been mostly kings and lakers hitting the cooler this past holiday weekend. Both spoons and flashers have been getting fish on 5 color lead cores all the way down to deep riggers with wire dipseys and 200 and 300 coppers in the middle all getting hits. The water is cold so dress warm and layers. You may be baking on shore. With cold water there has also been quite a bit of fog. That will probably be the case for awhile until water warms up. Please keep that in mind when running around out there. We’ve seen way too many boats without radar running at excessive speeds unable to see and have already had a couple close calls. Be safe. We have a couple openings next week if you do want to get out otherwise June is pretty full. Don’t wait too long to get on the books. Good fishin.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommas out there

Happy birthday to Brandon Grimm, one of the best first mates on the big lake.

Got the chance to jump in with Mysti and Bryan of Hi-Tech Charters in Sheboygan this morning for a quick run. Managed to get a coho, a couple browns and loose one while trolling in snow flurries. These 2 are a great team in Sheboygan and are running charters starting tomorrow. Still a couple weeks before we get the Salmon Chasers boat wet. Thanks guys for letting the fat guy reel in a fish. Captain Mike will be at the Appleton, Wi Fleet Farm today from 10-2. Stop in, check out the last weekend of Fleet Fest, see the cool stuff Berkley and Pure Fishing have to offer, and talk some fishing. Warm weather will be here before you know it.

So incredibly proud of Corry today. She stuck it out all day yesterday and today and just before sunset she dropped the hammer on another nice turkey at 49 yards. She had taken the whole week off but looks like we have 5 days to do some other fun stuff. My turn to try to fill a tag will be in 2 weeks. Good luck to all those that will be taking to Lake Winnebago tomorrow attempting to get themselves a sturgeon. I heard that only 1 out of every 12 people are lucky enough to get one.
