Ms. Krajnik's LBC Math Class

My A/A and a few of my enrichment group students participated in a nationwide Gingerbread Man Exchange! We have been working diligently on our gingerbread men to send off to 15 other schools around the United States, including Texas, Florida, New Jersey, North Carolina, Illinois, Michigan, California, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Ohio. Along with our gingerbread men, we sent a letter describing our school and our city. We finalized the last details today, and they are ready to mail in the morning! Once we receive all of the gingerbread men being mailed to us, we will have a small celebration, opening all of our letters at once while enjoying some hot chocolate and real gingerbread cookies! We are so excited!!

Today, the pre-algebra class prepared for their second chapter test of the year. We completed a station activity to review important concepts from the chapter. Students moved around the room in groups of 2 or 3 and completed different math stations together. The math "talk" is neat to hear, especially when students take the time to help each their teammates. We are still learning how to do this, but we are getting better each time! Nice job by all classes today!! :)

Time to get started on this FB page!! We've had a great start to the 2014/2015 school year. This coming week is the end of the first quarter! Where does time go? This week I will be sharing some pictures from our 2 week enrichment classes, as well as station activities in pre-algebra, and mini courses on Thursday! Happy November everyone! :)
