🌌 While we were celebrating National Park Week, it was also International Dark Sky Week, and we didn’t want to miss a chance to celebrate some exciting news! 🌌

Did you know Grand Teton National Park is the only national park in the U.S. with a commercial airport entirely within its boundaries? ✈️🏔️

While this creates some truly scenic arrivals, it also adds a unique dynamic. When your mission is to preserve the natural rhythm of day and night, every source of light, on the ground and in the sky, counts. That’s why the park, airport, and Teton County have teamed up to reduce light pollution through smarter lighting design and shared innovation.

On April 10th, 2025 the Dark Sky Place Committee approved the airport’s application to become an Urban Night Sky Place, making them the first DarkSky certified airport in the world!

This work is helping to protect the pristine night skies that make Grand Teton so special—not just for stargazers, but for the wildlife that depends on natural darkness to thrive.
