We are inviting young musicians to attend our Summer Camp 2026 from June 8-12. We welcome new beginners to learn music fundamentals and advancing instrumental musicians to form ensembles. The camps are free to everyone who would like to learn new skills!

A note from our director, Mr. Hernandez:

"When our students rehearse and perform together in a symphony orchestra, I see potential. I see minds challenged and hearts engaged with cognitively and emotionally rich learning. I see young people from every walk of life coming together to play, to agree, to create something none of them could make alone. I see curiosity taking root, the love of music teaching them how to work hard, how to stay with something that matters. It is all contained in this universe of sound."

Join Sistema Tulsa as over 300 young performers will present the results of their Spring semester and year-round learning!

The Big Concert is a string of 3 Sistema Performances at 5:00 (Jubilee Gym), 6:00 (Community Hall), and 7:30 (Jubilee Gym)

Concerts are free and open to the public at Boston Avenue UMC. Each concert lasts approximately 45 minutes.

The 5:00 pm performance features main hub and satellite students from Mitchell, Owen, Tisdale, Mayo, and Grissom Elementary schools performing strings, band, and creative electives such as movement, recorder, Orff, and more.

Tulsa Theatre Works students to join Sistema Tulsa students for the 6:00 performance, combining music, theater, and other creative arts in a heartwarming concert infused with storytelling.

The grand finale at 7:30 features our most advanced students from middle to high school performing side-by-side with teachers in great classical masterworks.

We honor the many inspiring music teachers who make a difference in the lives of our students each day. We appreciate you!

Members of the Maranatha Sunday School Class Boston Avenue United Methodist Church recently hosted a beautiful Salon Concert on April 18, 2026, to support local church missions – with Sistema Tulsa highlighted throughout the evening.

We are especially grateful that two of our Sistema leaders, Jose Luis Hernandez (piano) and Kelsey Rooney-Dorst (flute), were featured as the evening’s artists. Their leadership shines just as brightly on stage as it does in the classroom.

Jose Luis opened with five Nocturnes by Chopin, followed by works by Debussy, Satie, and Piazzolla. The night concluded with a stunning flute and piano finale featuring music by Saint-Saëns and Fauré. Along the way, the audience learned about the history and evolving style of classical music in 19th- and 20th-century Paris. Bravo!
