Just don't go nuts with it and cut down every tree you see as they do I at Up With Trees.

If Tulsa hadn't rushed to fix just the Route 66 Streets in Tulsa it would have been a world record for the most alignments needed in one day.

Actual Kendall-Whittier Neighborhood residents have no say about what goes on within the spaces where we live. Over 10 THOUSAND resident stakeholders in our area and FEW to NO seats at the policy making tables.
I am sure the folks at Up With Trees were well intentioned, but seeing all of those mature trees removed and replaced with saplings is just devastating to many of us here.
They thought they were working with neighborhood groups. In fact they were working with commercial developers who take anything along there though and they will deny responsibility for it.
Hello neighbors,
I’m putting together a community record of what it’s actually like to live in Kendall-Whittier — not just what shows up in planning documents, grant applications, or promotional materials.
What I’m asking for
If you live here now, or lived here in the past, I’m inviting you to share:
What day-to-day life is like for you in this neighborhood
Changes you’ve noticed (good, bad, or mixed)
Things that affect your sense of safety, stability, or belonging
Interactions you’ve had with institutions (city, police, landlords, nonprofits, utilities, developers, etc.)
How your input would be used
Your experiences would be treated as firsthand accounts. I may quote or summarize them, but I will not attach your name unless you explicitly ask me to. You can be as detailed or as brief as you want.
What this is not
This is not a survey, not a petition, and not a complaint form. It’s a way to make sure residents’ voices exist on the record — even when institutions don’t ask for them.
How to participate
You can write, voice-record, or just send bullet points. One experience or many — all of it matters.
