The news coming out of Cornell University has sparked painful conversations about sexual violence, consent and the responsibility we have to look out for one another.
So today, we're not sharing safety tips for women.
We're talking to men.
You have a role to play in women's safety.
Pay attention when a woman looks uncomfortable.
Check in: “Are you okay?”
Interrupt a situation that doesn't feel right.
Call out your friends when they cross a line.
Never mistake intoxication for consent.
Get help when someone may be in danger.
And don't stay silent because you're afraid of making things awkward.
You don't have to be the person causing harm to have a responsibility to help prevent it.

After 19 incredible years at YWCA Tulsa, our beloved Marcenia is retiring!
For nearly two decades, Marcenia has been one of the first faces to welcome people through our doors. But she has never simply greeted people. She made them feel at home.
She knows our members. She asks about their families. She celebrates their good days and cares about their hard ones. And she has brought that same love and kindness to her YWCA family every single day.
Marcenia is more than the person behind the front desk. She is part of the heart of YWCA Tulsa and part of what has made this place feel like home for so many of us.
We love you, Marcenia! You will be missed more than you know.

There’s something powerful about young people deciding they won’t look away.
For the past two years, Riverfield Country Day School Class of 2028 has been learning about the challenges facing people experiencing homelessness in Tulsa, and they turned that knowledge into action through a community resource festival, Seeds of Hope.
We were honored to join them at Guthrie Green and share how our Housing Services team helps people move from homelessness into safe, stable housing.
