Another Monsoon 2026 recap from a phenomenal storm chaser whom I am proud to call friend.

Monsoon 2026 is over, so here’s my favorites from the season. Managed to narrow it down to just 17.

Cloud cover stymied my hopes of capturing sprites tonight, but a storm over the Santa Ritas made the drive to Empire Ranch worth it. Here's my top six.

An unexpected series of mid-morning storms swept across Southern Arizona today. I managed to capture a few highlights.

Possibly my most fruitful storm chasing day of the Monsoon. I had low expectations, but was surprised at the strength of the storms that headed northwest from Nogales. Starting around 4:30 p.m., they persisted for well over two hours, providing ample opportunity for sunset color. These are my top three.

Took a rainy day photowalk around the museum on Monday. The animals were enjoying the damp, low temperature conditions.

I had a couple of brief opportunities today to capture the storms that flowed over Tucson. Here are my favorite daytime and nighttime images.

Caught a different perspective on Mission San Xavier del Bac this evening, as storms disappeared into the distance over the Tucson Mountains. Finished up catching another storm over the Catalinas, as viewed from Pima Community College West Campus.

A surprisingly great day yesterday chasing storms around south of Tucson. Our first stop was at Empire Ranch, where an isolated storm gave us amazing structure, but few bolts. We then drove at a leisurely pace through Sonoita, Rio Rico, and up I19 to Canoa Ranch where we found an elevated, dry spot as a line of storms drifted westwards at sunset. Here's my top pics from the chase.

Took me almost three hours this afternoon before I found a storm that stuck around long enough to give me a good show. Much of the problem was a lot of dust being kicked up west of the Tucson Mountains. Here's my favorites from just before sunset, and ironically less than a mile from home.
