Del Sol Design LLC - Unique, One-of-a-Kind, Handcrafted Designs Just for You. Crafting was a hobby for me until 2016 when I became a business owner.

Hello, my name is Rhonda Smith, small business owner of Del Sol Design, in Tucson Arizona. I have always been a crafter, making things such as centerpieces, wreaths, and sewing. My hopes and dreams of taking my crafting experience to the next level had finally come to fruition. Polymer Clay was the main medium that changed the trajectory of my business. I went from making jewelry with craft store acrylic beads to creating my own designs of wearable art jewelry. Unlike pottery clay, polymer clay has no natural properties and is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). There are endless possibilities when crafting with polymer clay, from molding, shaping, stamping, and painting, just to name a few. I learned how to blend various colors of polymer clay, creating an endless array of colors. I learned different techniques and designs which makes my jewelry unique and one-of-a-kind. No two pieces of jewelry are the same, each one as different as my customers. Along with my jewelry designs, I also make home décor items such as decoupage wall art, seasonal and team spirit wreaths, rustic barn wood signs, and Christmas ornaments. Paper crafting such as card making is also something I enjoy doing. Since the age of the internet, the art of writing has become part of our past. But paper crafting has revived mailing cards to friends and family. Everyone loves receiving a beautifully handmade card in the mail. There is no better way to send a lovely greeting than with handcrafted all-occasion greeting cards or holiday cards. For more information on Del Sol Design, like, follow, and shop:

White Tears 10/08/2026

Rhenny (Wren-e) is one of the characters in the book White Tears. Adrianna Alexander, a friend of mine named her daughter Rhen (Wren) and I loved the name so much I decided to incorporate her daughter’s name into my book as Rhenny.
The character Rhenny is full of s***k, and refused to conform to society. She refused to marry, or have children. She loved to listen to gossip, and was afraid of ghosts. Much to her father’s disappointment, Rhenny wore her skirts like britches. She pulled her skirts through her legs and held them with a belt around her waist.
You will notice Rhenny and other townsfolk have their own dialect, which is loosely based on an older generation of Scot/Irish dialect from the Appalachian mountains.
Here is a conversation between Rhenny and her friend Alice:
Rhenny kept her eye on the woman as she nudged Alice.
“Alice,” Rhenny said.
“Alice,” Rhenny said again, a little louder.
“I,” said Alice as she rearranged some things on her table.
“Yern sees that there lass?" Said Rhenny with a little more force behind her questions.
Alice was still not fully engaged, so Rhenny tried again. "Yern knows her?”
Rhenny’s crooked finger pointed in the direction of the woman.
Alice looked up from what she was doing and followed Rhenny’s finger.
Then Alice saw the woman, “I. Me sees hers.”
“Yern knows hers?” repeated Rhenny.
“I, we knows pert near all the folks in this here town,” came Alice's reply.
“Who she be? What be’s her name?” asked Rhenny.
Rhenny was completely frustrated with her friend. Rhenny knew they didn’t know the woman, but she wanted Alice to confirm what Rhenny was seeing.
Looking closer, Alice realized she didn’t know the woman and said, “Well, I be’s. Me not be’s a know’n her tat all. She must not be from around here’s.”

Jackie and her husband just recently hung the Saguaro that I made for them and they left this review of my work on thier Nextdoor page.
Thank you Jackie for your kind words. It was a pleasure to work with you.

I am the fortunate owner of Rhonda’s cactus creation. I saw her post about her much smaller version of the artwork and asked if she could create a bigger version of the same image. After several communications back & forth about possible changes to her first large version she graciously accommodated my requests and came to this final result. My husband & I both love it AND Rhonda for being sooo easy to work with.

God uses us when we let Him into our lives. He brings light to the darkness, joy to the sad, and hope to the discouraged. Allow Him to change your life.

From the book White Tears:
It began as a rumor, then it became an urban legend. For generations, many said it was witchcraft, demonic, and from Satan himself. They were called witches, imprisoned, stoned to death, and burned at the stake. They suffered unimaginable horrors at the hands of those who feared them.
But in reality, it was a gift from God.
When Jesus walked the earth, twelve disciples followed Him. History leads us to believe that the disciples were all men, but women followed Jesus too. They, too, were given gifts of the Spirit, just as the men were. All were instructed by Jesus to go forth and heal the sick and dying. And one woman did as she was told; her name was Tirzah.
The gift was handed from mother to daughter, and with each generation there was only one woman who had the gift. She would always give birth to one child, a girl. No matter the circumstance, the woman would always give birth. The line could not be broken.
When the woman was called upon to share her gift, it was always a shock. The contrast between the woman’s soft, tanned skin and the white of her tears that poured from her eyes was mesmerizing. A person could not look away from the miracle that flowed forth to heal.
Follow the women through the generations as they tell their story, the story of White Tears.

One of my wonderful clients asked me to take the smaller Saguaro Cactus (12 inches tall by 5 inches wide) and create a much larger size (36 inches tall by 24 inches wide). Since it is my original artwork, I was able to create something unique just for her. The 3D relief Saguaro and surrounding desert theme is made with air-dry clay and hand-painted.
