**Cook once—eat twice!**

If you're grilling chicken for dinner, make a little extra. Tomorrow's lunch can be chicken over a hearty salad or tucked into a wrap.

The same strategy works with grilled vegetables and other proteins.

A little extra cooking today can mean almost no cooking tomorrow—which leaves more time for swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying your anchorage.

**Think about refrigerator space BEFORE you order groceries.**

A yacht refrigerator and freezer are much smaller than the ones you have at home. Choose refrigerated and frozen foods carefully, look for compact ingredients, and make shelf-stable foods an important part of your meal plan.

Before you put something on your provisioning list, don't just ask, “What do we want to eat?”

Also ask, “Where are we going to put it?”

It's a question that can save you a lot of trouble once the groceries arrive!

Sandwiches taste even better in paradise!

**Don't underprovision either!**

Running to the grocery store isn't quite so simple when you're on a yacht. You may need to find a mooring, take the dinghy ashore, walk to the store, shop, haul everything back and put it all away.

Plan to restock a few fresh items during the week, but don't spend valuable vacation time repeatedly grocery shopping.

And hold onto those grocery bags during the dinghy ride! 😉
