Our virtual Land Art Series is coming to an end next week. Our young artists have accomplished so much over the past 8 weeks. We've gathered inspiration from our sweet desert landscape and learned about other landscapes and land artists from all across the globe. We created paintings using our own earth pigments. We've balanced rocks and built sculptures out of sticks and twigs. We've carefully taken inventory of the colors which surround us and found creative and respectful ways to incorporate these colors into our land art. It's been a blast! If you missed out on this series, no worries!
The next virtual Art Series will be exploring the limitless land of FIBER ART! Students will be learning several different weaving, knotting, and knitting techniques as well as creating their own looms! Lots of exciting new projects in the works for this upcoming virtual series.
This virtual Fiber Art Series will be held on Wednesday afternoons at 3:45PM. Classes start October 21st!

Such a fun first virtual Land Art class! Students became familiar with the talented artist Jonna Jinton and learned how landscapes influence art and the process by understanding their own. Students did a backyard supplies search and collected rocks for their first Land Art challenge: Balancing Rock Sculptures!
The results are impressive! It required a lot of patience and focus.
Message if interested in enrolling your kiddo (ages 7-13)!
We still have many more exciting Land Art projects to create!

Hard to believe our first week is already completed!! We have created an abundance of magic in a teensy window of time! Our artists have successfully written 2 snapshot musicals on the Earth's elements and even composed 2 original songs! Today we began designing costumes, stage props and found a common thread during our writer's workshop to tie all 4 element snapshot musicals together!
We cannot wait for next week!!
Happy creating this weekend.
We'll see you At the Studio!

Day 2 was music to our ears!!
We have quite an impressive and diverse group of musicians with us this summer...
We created ensembles, performed a score, created a music web, and jammed to our favorite tunes today!
At the Studio artists began writing the first element vignette: Earth. We are introducing the Goddess Nia, healer of the Earth. The role for our villian will be played by none other than all things Global Warming. And the role for our S/hero goes to EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). There's quite a battle developing...
Several musicians have even begun composing original songs.
There's so much more story to be written and songs to be sung. Stay tuned...
