Pio Decimo Center’s roots go deep in Tucson’s vibrant Barrio Santa Rosa community. Dominic established Pio Decimo in 1946 as their convent, and soon began to minister to the poor and hungry. From these charitable roots, we’ve grown into a dynamic hub of community activity. Today, we provide support and solutions to help our community members grow and thrive. Program Overview

A heartfelt thank you to KOLD 13 for shining a light on the growing need to provide food for our community—especially for children now that school is out for the summer.

Many families rely on school meals, and this time of year can be especially challenging. You can help us make sure no child goes hungry.

We are currently collecting donations of kid-friendly food items such as peanut butter and jelly, cereal, and mac and cheese.

Donations can be dropped off at:
📍 Pio Decimo Center

Monetary donations are also welcome and can be made online—please designate your gift to the Pio Decimo Food Pantry.

Thank you for helping us support our community’s children. 💛

☀️Summer has officially arrived!☀️
Today, our Preschool and Pre-K children became young scientists and engineers as they created their very own solar ovens for a fun STEM experiment! Using the power of the sun, they explored how solar energy can create heat and melt ingredients to make delicious s’mores. Through hands-on learning, the children discovered concepts such as renewable energy, heat transfer, problem-solving, and engineering design while testing and improving their solar ovens. Learning has never been so sweet!

As they observed their marshmallows and chocolate melting, they made predictions, asked questions, and practiced critical thinking skills just like real scientists!

Meanwhile, our School-Age students celebrated their first Water Day of the summer! Filled with splashing, laughter, and outdoor fun, the children enjoyed cooling off while building friendships, staying active, and making wonderful summer memories.

What an exciting day of exploration, discovery, and summertime fun!

Caps off to our littlest grads! 🎓✨

This week, Pio Decimo Center celebrated our 80th Early Childhood Education graduation!

Our amazing Pre-school and Pre-Kinder classes took their big steps toward pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten!

From finger painting and learning the alphabet to building tall towers and even taller friendships, we are so incredibly proud of how much these little ones have grown this year.

Thank you to our wonderful parents and families for trusting us with your precious kiddos, and to our amazing teachers who poured so much love into this year.

The adorable students at Pio Decimo celebrated El Día del Niño with a super fun musical parade and treats! They also dressed up for their future dream careers.

El Día del Niño, or Children's Day, is a Mexican holiday held every April 30 to honor the importance and well-being of children. This joyful day is dedicated entirely to the happiness and rights of childhood.

¡Feliz Día del Niño!

Our Early Childhood Education Program and After-school students had an egg-citing Easter celebration full of fun!🐣🌸

Children explored creativity through egg coloring activities, practiced teamwork during our exciting egg hunt, and built social skills while playing Easter games and taking turns at the piñata. The day was filled with laughter and hands-on learning activities —plus some delicious hot dogs and outdoor refreshments to enjoy together!

We cherish moments like these that create joyful memories. 💛

Happy Easter to all our families!

Today we celebrate and say thank you to Francisco also known as Don Pancho, on his retirement from Pio Decimo Center.

Your dedication, hard work, and care as a maintenance team member have made a lasting impact on our community. So much of what runs smoothly each day is thanks to your quiet commitment behind the scenes.

You’ve been an essential part of our team, and your presence will truly be missed—not just for what you’ve done, but for the positivity and reliability you brought every day.

Wishing you all the best in this next chapter. May your retirement be filled with rest, joy, and all the things you love.

Thank you for everything, Francisco!
