A mother otter went viral after proudly showing visitors her newborn baby.

She swam right up to the glass, holding the tiny pup like she wanted everyone to see.

It was the sweetest moment.

Then the dad otter appeared.

And instead of showing off the baby, he showed off his favourite rock.

The internet immediately loved it.

Because somehow, it felt exactly like a “mom vs dad” moment.

Mom: look at our beautiful child.

Dad: look at this excellent rock.

The funny part is that rocks are actually important to otters.

Sea otters use them as tools to crack open shellfish, and some even keep favourite rocks they use again and again.

So while the mother had the baby, the father had his prized possession.

A newborn otter.

A proud mom.

And a dad who just wanted everyone to appreciate his rock.
