Welcome 2026 Summer Interns!

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Zona Technical Engineering 2026 Summer Interns: Micah Case, Cassandra Abraham, Lillian Thai, Ben Harding, and Amelia Sommerhauser! These outstanding students from the The University of Arizona and UA College of Engineering bring with them impressive academic achievements, diverse perspectives, and ambitious goals.

Throughout the summer, they’ll have the opportunity to work alongside our employees to contribute to active projects, collaborate across teams, and gain valuable experience in the A/E/C industry. From developing technical knowledge to building new professional skills, we’re looking forward to supporting their growth and helping them gain hands-on experience in the field. Their internships will offer hands-on experience, opportunities to develop new skills, and a chance to explore careers in the MEP sector.

Welcome to the Zona Team Micah, Cassandra, Lillian, Ben, and Amelia! We look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish and the positive impact you will make during your time with us.

Last week, Zona Technical Engineering sent two mechanical engineering designers, Jacob Longo, EIT and Trinity Brandt, EIT, to the NSW Exclusive Advanced Price Engineering Training in Casa Grande, Arizona. This two-day long class provided insights on HVAC design and air distribution as well as further connections with Arizona companies. The training focused on the fluid dynamics of air, mechanical equipment demonstrations, and a tour of Price's manufacturing floor. Jacob and Trinity brought back valuable expertise to support upcoming project work and enable more thorough and informed Mechanical design.

Earlier this month, Zona was proud to have four team members participate in the 2026 ASHRAE Tucson Golf Tournament in Tubac.

It was a great opportunity to connect with others in the industry, enjoy a day on the course, support the local engineering community, and have lots of fun. ⛳

Congratulations on this morning’s ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Department of Forestry and Fire Management facility in Phoenix, AZ! We're proud of the entire team and excited to see the impact this project will have in the community.

Several of our employees participated in both the Arizona Technology Council’s 16th Annual Tucson Golf Tournament and the Mathcounts Golf Tournament. These events provided a great opportunity to connect with others in our community while supporting two outstanding organizations, with some of our team members even bringing home 1st place awards!

We’re proud to support events that strengthen our community, encourage collaboration, and bring people together, along with a little friendly competition along the way.

Zona was proud to sponsor and participate in ASHRAE’s 3rd Annual “Shooting Hearts” Sporting Clays Tournament last week.

The Zona team included David Tyrrell, Principal Mechanical Engineer; Raymond Villa, Mechanical Designer I; Trinity Brandt, Mechanical Designer I; and Jacob Longo, EIT, Mechanical Designer II.

Our team enjoyed supporting a great event that brought together industry professionals for a day of teamwork, friendly competition, and community connection. Thank you to ASHRAE’s Tucson Chapter and everyone who made the event a success.

We’ve had a great start to 2026 through meaningful community involvement and student engagement opportunities. Our team has enjoyed connecting with University of Arizona students during several events, including the iExpo Career Fair, a Take 5 Lunch, and SWE’s Professional Preparedness Day.

We appreciate the opportunity to meet students, share insights about careers in engineering, and support professional development through meaningful conversations. Thank you to the University of Arizona and all the students who participated in these events.

Supporting and encouraging the next generation of MEP engineers is important to us, and we value opportunities like these to connect, mentor, and learn alongside future professionals.
