Blue skies, spinning props and endless green canvas!

Have you ever seen a plane like this before? Chances are that you have not, because there is only a handful of these left in the whole world! This is the Aero Ae-45S (yes, the same Aero known for the L-39), a 70-year old airframe, that got damaged 1988 and sat almost a decade before a pair of enthusiasts took it under their wings. Cue the lengthy restoration process and this plane took to the skies over Estonia in 2024! Recently I had the honour and privilege to partake in a special Air-to-Air mission to capture the beauty of this aircraft and the incredible work the small circle of owners have put into this wonderful retro-futuristic piece of ART!

A pair of Polish Air Force M-346 Masters (known as Bielik or White-Tailed Eagle in Poland) during a flyby at Estonian Aviation Days 2026. The backseater of the lead plane has pulled their phone out and is capturing footage of the spectators and Estonian Aviation Museum, where the event was held.

This year's event was treated with plenty of military flybys over the two days, including Swedish Gripens, a Finnish Legacy Hornet, Portuguese Fighting Falcons, Estonian M28 and these advanced trainers from Poland.

Red Bull gives you wings... and apparently, a complete disregard for gravity to go with it!

Aaron Fitzgerald pulls the Bo-105 helicopter vertical and beyond to complete a backflip. Aerobatic shows are challenging enough to photograph but adding rotors to the mix makes it especially difficult to get a healthy amount of rotor blur combined with sharp fuselage.

When you absolutely need to blend into a herd of zebras ... at 5000 feet!

Jokes aside, this Antonov An-2 is absolutely gorgeous and it was a delight to see it in the air! The owner of this aircraft sure has put a lot of TLC into this old biplane, even the interior has been luxuriously refurbished.

Look at you. Climbing. Like gravity is just a choice to you, not a law. That soft v***r wrapping your wings like a delicate silk scarf and those afrerburners - god, you are practically bleeding fire.
You are putting on quite a show, even though deep down you are actually terrified of being seen. Every blended curve and jagged panel line on that airframe is meant to keep you hidden. Ok, I'll bite - who are you actually hiding from? Because we at the airshow love to see You.

Scott Farnsworth's L-39C Albatros sits quietly on the tarmac while night airshow performers pull orbits and loops overhead, launching pyrotechnics strapped to their aircraft.

This image is a composite of 22 individual images taken from a tripod, capturing the maneuvers overhead and lightpainting the aircraft itself with my flashlight piece by piece. Individual frames were later processed in Lightroom and blended in Photoshop. The edit reveal shows one of those 22 images before Lightroom processing.
