In 1922, some 94 years ago Mervyn Walsh, a man who once worked for Thomas Edison, started what was then called the Walsh Institute. The school occupied two rooms on the sixth floor of the new Capitol Theatre, now known as the Detroit Opera House.

Today, the inauguration of the seventh president of Walsh College which took place where it all began, in the Detroit Opera House building. Here are a few shots of today’s special occasion.
