Great Scott! Did Doc Brown actually survive the 'Back to the Future' finale?

We used Altair MotionSolve to digitally debunk the physics of the 88 mph lightning strike. Our multibody dynamics (MBD) simulation uncovered a startling truth: the hook and cable would experience forces beyond their breaking points. In all likelihood, the cable would break and lash about dangerously.

The verdict? If we apply real-world physics, Doc Brown was facing a life-threatening situation. While cinematic wizardry ensured his survival, our simulation suggests he was truly racing against time!
