Did you know SOCRRA has a simple rule of thumb for scrap metal recycling? ♻️

If an item is made of at least 50% metal, it can be dropped off at SOCRRA's Recycling Drop-off Center with an appointment. Items made of less than 50% metal should go in the trash. 🗑️

REMINDER: no propane tanks and no gas cans in the scrap metal bin.

For this week's , let's talk about candles and candle containers. 🕯️

🗑️ Candles and candle containers should go in the trash.

But before you toss that container, consider giving it a second life! Glass and ceramic candle holders make great jars for storing small items, organizing your space, or holding pens.

If you have an aluminum votive candle container, you may be able to recycle it curbside, but only if it's completely free of wax residue. Otherwise, it should be placed in the trash.

For today's , let's talk about disposing of glass items because not all glass belongs in your recycling bin,

✅ Recycle clean, empty glass bottles and jars

🚫 Drinking glasses, window glass, Pyrex, mirrors, ceramics, and other glass items should NOT go in curbside recycling. Instead, consider reusing, donating, or placing these items in the trash when necessary.
