Topeka Model Railroaders

Don't forget! The Topeka Model Railroaders will be meeting this Monday, September 21st from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library in Marvin Room 101B.

This is our regular monthly meeting where members and the board discuss club business, upcoming events, layout plans, and whatever else is happening around the club. It's also a great opportunity to pay membership dues, join the club, hear what's going on behind the scenes, and make your voice heard.

And with our 5th Annual Train Show & Swap Meet coming up October 3rd and 4th, there's plenty to talk about and get ready for!

Hope to see you there!

The Topeka Model Railroaders will be at the 2026 Train Show and Swap Meet hosted by the Turkey Creek Division of the NMRA.

Saturday, August 29th
8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Shawnee Civic Center
13817 Johnson Dr #3802
Shawnee, KS 66216

We’ll have our modular layout set up and running, so come see us, check out the layout, and visit with our members!

The show will also feature over 75 vendor tables, model train clinics, a model contest showroom, home layout tours, and an “Ask a Modeler” help desk.

Come out and enjoy a day of model railroading. We hope to see you there!

Don't miss the KCMR Model Train Show at the Kansas State Fairgrounds June 13 & 14. Let the kids run the trains on one of our Operating layouts and browse tons of model & toy trains!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Open House at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center this past weekend. We had a great time running trains, meeting visitors, and sharing our hobby with the community. We'd also like to thank the Topeka VA for hosting us, as well as everyone who helped with setup and teardown.

One of the things that makes our club special is the creativity and craftsmanship of our members. To help share some of that with everyone, we're excited to launch a new series on our website: Member Layout Spotlights.

Our first spotlight features member Ted Ericson and his collection of three impressive home layouts spanning decades of model railroading. Read the full story and see photos on our blog!

Sad news! It has come to my attention that we will not be travelling to Lawrence to setup our club layout for the Lawrence Model Railroad Club's annual Train Show. This information was shared with Lawrence Bouray late this afternoon. Not sure of the reasons why ... evidently they don't have room for us this year.
