Shooting FastCAT this weekend means I'm getting a lot of questions about my Action Fusion Edits! They're just $75 and I capture everything I need while your dog is running, all you have to do is pick your favorite sequence from your proof gallery and let me work my magic 🪄 (You'll also receive one photo of your choice from your sequence!)

It was a bad day to be a trash bunny here in Vinita, and the rest of the weekend isn't looking much better! 🐰 I even snuck in a couple of very cute mini portrait sessions and if we get another lovely overcast day tomorrow, I will be hanging around the event site for awhile after the runs if anyone wants to meet up for one!

Cannot wait to see everyone down in Vinita 📸 I will be there bright and early tomorrow for the 7am runs, and then at 6am the rest of the weekend! Weather is looking perfect and I'm secretly hoping for some light sprinkles, because it makes for awesome photos!

Have had a couple questions about my Vinita Mini Portrait sessions, so here's a quick run down!

$75 - 20 minute session
3 fully edited photos or one photo + one double exposure edit from proof gallery
$15/additional photos

I will not have my black on black studio set up, BUT this location is pretty great and I can easily do some really nice double exposures there -- here's one I did up of Vicki's beautiful girl Gia from the last ORCA runs. Shoot me a DM if you're interested in setting up a quick shoot to celebrate a new title, or just for fun!

I will also have some slots available for action fusion edits! These are created using photos I take of your dog during their runs and can be ordered after the event.

And don't forget to get in your request for video!

I am hitting the road for the ORCA Labor Day FastCAT Tests down in Vinita, OK this weekend and I am so excited to be offering photo AND video again! These 3 day events give me a pretty good opportunity to get both of most dogs, but please reach out if you have a preference for one over the other and I'll make a note on my run order. I’ve offered simple clips in the past, but videos will be a little more stylish this time! 😜

I’ve been dreading making this post & have considered many ways to do it, but I’d rather keep it short and sweet: Things are expensive. Running a legitimate, tax paying, insured business based largely on travel and fancy expensive equipment is expensive. This whole thing started as a fun side hustle that let me spend time at dog shows, so the fact that I’ve been able to grow it practically into full time job is amazing, but I have to keep my lights on and gas tank full!

So there’s going to be a small increase on my full size purchased digital files. Beginning September 1st, 2024, smaller orders will be going up a few bucks *but* I will be offering bulk whole gallery purchases of your dog at a MUCH more affordable price! I will also be dropping the price of the prints, products and keepsakes in the print shop attached to your galleries, in my constant quest to get people to actually print their photos 🥰

I really don’t like doing this, so I’m having a flash sale to soothe some of my guilt.. consider it Christmas in .. August? Starting now, all photos from all events from 2024 are just $10, no minimum purchase. Whole galleries (if available at that event of your dog!) are just $125. Catch up on all of those memories you meant to grab when the gallery was released. 😅

Introducing, in full technicolor, Sailor’s Mama Don’t Take My Kodachrome Away, AKA Arbus: the newest and most darling member of the Oddpaw family. Athough he’s only been with us since Friday, he is a natural in front of the camera and getting along with Alfie like a long lost brother. He is home just in time for a fantastic fall full of events and trials where we can hone those obedience, travel and social skills before exploring some big boy sports for real once he grows up a little! We’re also looking forward to an illustrious modeling career! 📸 Thank you so much Sailor’s Boston Terriers for helping us welcome this little boy to the family!

Happy Gotcha Day to the real star of Oddpaw Studio, Alfalfa Slim: supermodel, trick dog, motherboy supreme. I don't know what I would do without this little orange dog, who has brought purpose and not only changed the way I thought about dog behavior, but what I was capable of in all aspects of my life. I am forever grateful to this boy and I'm MORE than excited to see what the second half of 2024 has in store for us both..

It seems like ages ago that I was able to make these portraits with Payne -- this summer has definitely been a whirlwind, and the great big changes just keep coming!

I will have mini portrait session availability every evening next week for the Capital City Cluster dog shows here in Topeka, Kansas! I would really love to make some pretty portraits with y'all before I jump into an event-filled September and this is a great opportunity to get a session at a bit of a discount, since it's on my home turf! It's always been very important to me to keep my photography affordable and accessible, so while there will be slight price increase on full resolution edited files, I will always offer great discounts on large orders and there will be awesome flat-rate deals on your dog's whole gallery in the second half of 2024! And while the digital file will cost you a little bit more, prices on actual items purchased from the print store in your gallery will be just about as low as I can make them--I'm not super interested in pulling a lot of profits from those, I just love the idea of people actually PRINTING! and DOING THINGS! with their photos!

Good evening, everyone.. we're halfway through August and I figured I'd pop in for a quick life update.

I am currently recovering from an incredible, whirlwind 10 days in Europe -- one of the most beautiful experiences of my life that came on the tail end of one of the saddest. At the end of July, we said goodbye to the last of our original Boston Mobb, Fancy Delicious. She lived a fantastic fourteen years, but her poor little heart just wasn't in it for another one. We let her go a little before our trip and we are all still a little adrift without her. I'm very glad I was able to have this whole month to wrap my head around our new reality.

But I am gearing up for a really, REALLY busy September.. and a wild October after that! 😅 Looking forward some home-town events, revisiting favorite travel spots and doing some second shooter work for some incredible photographers! But before I jump into that, I will have daily availability for portrait sessions during the Topeka Kennel Club dog show next week! Stay tuned for more info on that.

And in saving the worst for last... a very small price increase for my photos is on the horizon 😖 I hate to do it, but the price of EVERYTHING has gone up and as a professional, I have to keep up with the rates of travel, insurance, and everything it takes to run a legitimate business. The increase is NOT a large one, and I'm happy to be offering really low prices on all the new offerings you are now able to purchase in your gallery's print shop. New prices will take effect September 1st, 2024 and there will be more information on that coming, too.

Jack and Kali are such a fun team to photograph, and they looked TOO PERFECT at the Pokémon Adventure Trial!!

I am smack-dab in the middle of my big European adventure, but will be back in the states chasing dogs soon!

My big vacation is days away and it feels like Klimb Classic was months ago. Time is moving so weird this summer and I'm already gearing up for a fall full of lure coursing, National events and portrait events! 📸

Happy Sunday -- let's all take a moment to enjoy these absolutely perfect portraits of birthday girl Annie! I got to photograph her before I ran off to Klimb Classic and I've been obsessing over some of these ever since.

Some of my favorite locations are absolutely bursting with beauty right now and I have time for one or two shoots before I head off on vacation -- and the end of August means 🌻sunflowers🌻 and I'm taking names for the announcement list for those sessions, too!

I'm still so in love with all the double exposures from the dog sport try it weekend at Camo Cross Dog Training. I am putting my feelers out for a location for the next studio pop up -- one totally dedicated to creating magical pet portraits!

And speaking of portraits, I will be up at the St. Joe Kennel Club shows this weekend with some time available throughout the day for mini sessions. The weather is looking perfectly overcast, so I should be able to do some good work all day!

Some startline shots that I'm absolutely in love with from OKC .. After 2 years in the catch pen, I seriously love doing these. The energy up here is so different! I'm a little bummed that it will be at least a month before I'm at any more coursing events, but I have something scheduled every weekend in September! And I'm looking forward to catching up on some personal projects and doing more portrait work during my break.

I was so completely overwhelmed (in a good way!!) at how popular my double exposure portraits were, I really didn’t get to cover as many try its as I thought I would. But I still got some really great stuff for you guys, and thank you again for your patience! The last few weeks have been full of big shows, LOTS of photos and unfortunately, the passing of my oldest dog. But with this gallery, I am 100% caught up with event work! 🥳

I will be spending the next month and a half working on some portrait work (both personal AND otherwise, let’s schedule your fall portraits now!), upgrading Alfie to an intermediate Trick Dog and getting ready for a September with events booked every weekend!

Some extreme Poodle Power from the Oklahoma Summer Classic last month -- after wrapping up Klimb Classic 2024 this week, I am looking forward to the next two months of no event photography! I will be focusing on making some beautiful portraits (interested? Sunflowers are coming! Let's talk!) and possibly even setting up another studio pop-up -- and I will also be traveling to Denmark in August for the first time, for TEN days!!

So while I will miss zipping around the heart of the country chasing your dogs, I am very much looking forward to a few weeks of much needed rest and recharging!

I’m here shooting under Twin Eyes Photography for the next few days — OKC Summer Classic FastCAT photos should be uploaded, but it took Shootproof 8 hours to upload 1000 photos last night 😅 I’m assuming this is “normal” and expect the rest to upload tonight or tomorrow!

I really am in LOVE with how these turned out and I'm very interested in finding another dog-friendly location to hold another one of these mini studio sessions!

I am so pleased with how this pair turned out: JJ and Joy, having a ball down in Oklahoma! Orders are going out and I have Summer Classic photos to upload and the gallery/portraits from the CCDT Try It Day to deliver -- I really appreciate everyone's patience, and not just for the usual reasons. My oldest Boston is not doing well.. I am lucky to have some time left with her and I am making the most of it. Your photos are not forgotten, but I have prioritized things above my own dogs in the past and it's a mistake I won't be making again. Not now.

So my turn around time will be on the later end of normal and unfortunately, I'm cutting my time from Klimb Classic this week from 4 days to 2, but I'm going to continue making my own memories AND capturing yours, it's just going to be a little different than originally planned. I know my fellow dog people understand, and I'm so happy that you're my people 🫶🏻
