I was saddened; NO, I was disgusted and angered by the conduct of the Pro-Trump mob which stormed our Nation’s Capitol Building on January 6, 2021. Rioters who included known gang members: “Proud Boys", "Qanon" and other white supremacy losers all incited by a President refusing to peacefully transfer power. This seditious mob was enabled by the participation of many members of Congress who legitimize the “Big Lie” of a rigged election by refusing to accept the votes as certified by the fifty (50) States.
I, and other Kansans, have been called, texted and emailed by people outside Kansas who question the patriotism of Kansans, in general. I explain that the actions of Representative Tracey Mann, Ron Estes and Jake LaTurner along with the very first vote cast by newly elected Senator Roger Marshall were not supported by all citizens of our State.
I am particularly disappointed in Roger Marshall. I had cheered him on when he defeated Tim Huelskamp in 2016. I thought him to be an intelligent and personable man. However, after Marshall was elected to Congress he appeared to be catering to the whims of the President, not his own constituents. At this point, I believe Senator Marshall’s conduct, before, during and after the insurrection, was as seditious as the President telling the crowd at the White House event to go to the Capitol.
I urge all four (4) of these elected officials to examine their loyalty. Is each loyal to their Oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America or personal loyalty to President Donald J. Trump. If it is the latter, each should resign. JoAnn W. Roth, Ellinwood, KS

As much as we hate to see him go, we know he won't be a stranger. Thank you, Doug, for leading and advocating for Kansas journalism for so long. You will be so very missed.
If anyone deserves a full retirement, it is you. Enjoy, Doug!
