This Thursday, three of our Masonic Lodges are coming together to sponsor 275 students from seven area school districts on educational field trips to the Sedgwick County Zoo and Cedar Cove Feline Conservatory & Sanctuary.

What began four years ago with one lodge and one school district has grown into a collaborative effort involving Gilead Lodge No. 144, Iola Lodge No. 38, Marmaton Lodge No. 245, and schools across the region. We’re proud to support local students and help give them opportunities to learn, explore, and experience something new in their communities, and we look forward to expanding this effort in the future.

With assistance from the Kansas Masonic Foundation, it was a fabulous week for the Ellsworth Masonic Lodge #146. First, Worshipful Brother Kendall Rathbun and Brother Casey Flinn presented a check for $5000 to the Smoky Hill Childcare Foundation to help with their continued support of infants and children throughout Ellsworth and surrounding communities. Their organization received this grant because they have continuously been a positive contributor and put the care of the youth first. Next, Worshipful Brother Kendall Rathbun, Brother Kurt Krupp, and Brother Casey Flinn presented a check to Hattie Jo's Coffee Shop in support of the 5th Quarter on October 23. This donation will allow everyone to enjoy drinks and food in a safe environment at no cost after the last home football game. Great work Brothers!!!
