This year the TRVFD has purchased 8 new PPE Bunker Gears sets, all new boots and 5 sets of dual purpose Wildland PPE gear, helmets, hoods, etc. And it’s all thanks to generous donations/grants from TEEX, Conoco Phillips, Valero, Repsol, James Daughthy foundation. This year alone we have spend upwards of $45,000 just on PPE ( Personal Protective Equipment). It can cost $5000-8000 or more to outfit 1 firefighter in the safety gear.. and state regulations states that we must retire a set when they are worn too much or every 10 years. This is a significant cost to every fire department. We rely on these generous donations in order be in compliance. We thank all for the wonderful donations and support we receive. We also apply for grants to help finance PPE, trucks and equipment, which in itself is an endless job!
TRVFD would like to express our deepest gratitude for all those whom donate and make this possible. Keeping our firefighters safe and equipped is our highest goal. When we stay safe, we help the community.
