On the first Arbor Day, April 10, 1872, more than one million trees were planted across Nebraska!🌳 What started as a single day of action quickly took root nationwide, and within 20 years, every state was celebrating Arbor Day. Celebrated on the last Friday of April.

Trees do more than beautify our communities, they conserve water by reducing evaporation, provide cooling shade, boost property values, and create vital habitats for wildlife. Plant a tree. Grow a legacy. 🌱

Arizona and Hawaii are the only two states that do not observe Daylight Saving Time, with one exception: the Navajo Nation in Arizona does follow the time change.

While most of the country moves their clocks ahead one hour, Arizona keeps the same time year-round.

Why?
Arizona’s extreme summer heat played a big role in the decision. Extending daylight later into the evening would mean even hotter evenings and increased air-conditioning use. By skipping the clock change, the sun sets earlier, helping reduce energy demand and heat exposure during the hottest months.
