Progress continues at Vestar Verrado Marketplace in Buckeye as site landscaping takes shape. The team has installed 104 date palms, over 10,000 shrubs, and placed roughly 1,950 tons of granite to help define the space and bring long-term durability to the environment. Each element is coming together to create a welcoming, high-quality retail destination for the community.

In Arizona’s heat, landscaping is just as much about strategy as it is about aesthetics.

Thoughtful landscape planning can reduce temperatures, improve building efficiency, and create outdoor spaces that people can actually enjoy during the hottest months of the year.

Swipe through to learn how shade plays a critical role in cooling our communities.

Earthscapes is bringing the corridor to life along SRPMIC Pima Road 🌱

Our team completed 7 miles of median parkway landscaping, along with 7 miles of irrigation and decomposed granite restoration within the Scottsdale right-of-way, and an additional 2–3 miles of irrigation, planting, and DG restoration throughout the community right-of-way.

These improvements don’t just enhance the view, they create sustainable, long-lasting landscapes that support the surrounding community for years to come.

The turf removal and renovations at Crossroads Park are officially complete! 🌿

By replacing the existing turf that separates the park and AZ Ice with decomposed granite and desert-friendly landscaping, the space not only gets a fresh new look — it also supports smarter water conservation for our Arizona climate.

A win for the community and a win for sustainability.

Big or small, every landscape counts. From narrow roadway medians to expansive park fields, Earthscapes designs and builds landscapes that perform at every scale.
The challenges differ. Medians demand high-impact, low-maintenance plantings, while park fields require irrigation, drainage, and turf that can withstand heavy use. But the goal is the same: resilient, beautiful, and functional landscapes that enhance commercial and public spaces alike.

Ever wonder what keeps commercial landscapes thriving after a storm? It’s the infrastructure you rarely see — from underground drainage pipes to box culverts — that directs water safely away from plants, pavements, and foundations. Proper design = fewer puddles, healthier landscapes, and lower maintenance costs.

Big improvements with a lighter footprint 💪🌿

This Town of Gilbert water conservation project at Cosmo Park replaces turf with decomposed granite and desert landscaping, while adding a new tiered retaining wall and stairs with handrails to make it easier for our community (and pups!) to enjoy the dog park—all while elevating the look of the entire space.

Less water. Less Maintenance. More Green.🪴
Turf removal isn’t just a landscape upgrade — it’s a water-saving strategy. Replacing traditional grass with artificial turf reduces water use, lowers maintenance, and keeps outdoor spaces green year-round without the waste.

Shade trees = natural climate control

A single mature shade tree can lower surrounding temperatures by up to 9°F, reducing heat on pavements, sidewalks, and building façades. On commercial sites, that means lower energy costs, more comfortable outdoor spaces, and longer-lasting infrastructure — all without a single mechanical upgrade.
Especially in Arizona, strategic tree placement is about smart, long-term planning for both comfort and sustainability.
