This Sunday at 2:30 pm in our Kaiser Classroom! Join us for a free talk by Ute Mountain Ute, Tribal Elder Donald Whyte as he details his personal journey of learning, speaking, and teaching his ancestral language. Former Chief Ranger of Chaco Culture National Historical Park, Donald will chart his lifelong process of embracing his heritage from his childhood and public school on the reservation through his career and retirement. The presentation will serve as the culmination of his work to obtain a Ute Language Certificate through the Southwest Indigenous Language Development Institute, a collaboration between the Southern Ute, Northern Ute, Ute Mountain Ute and Fort Lewis College School of Education. No reservations required.
