Weekend tip to enhance your LinkedIn profile Heading

Depending where you are in the world, you are halfway or more than halfway done with the work week. You’ve got this! Bonus if you love what you do.

I have worked with many clients who do not love what they do. And I have worked with many who do love what they do.

Life is very short…find that positive intersection of WHO you work for and with to be a strong match for you, WHAT you’re good at and love, WHERE you thrive and want to be 40-60+ hrs/wk, and the WHY is answered for doing what you do.

This is really hard to achieve…many out there give hope to those who haven’t. Do not settle, stay positive, and keep searching for the intersection and full career package.

Are you a senior leader speaking about your value using verbs like administered, assisted, completed, coordinated, organized, and supported?

Change the verbs you use to deliver, drive, spearhead, strategize, and transform.

Know and convey your value.

This is a repost from a couple of years ago as I worked with a client this past week who hugely undervalued herself in the world of Quality, Program, and Project Management in a large CPG company.

Assess if you do this, change and adapt if you need to, and don’t continue doing the same things over and over expecting different outcomes.

Earlier in my career, I went from working for a global multi-$B company on the East Coast to a small start-up on the West Coast. We were all in it together, no titles on business cards, everyone mattered, and I loved it.

One takeaway skill was IT…as in technology…as in try to solve your own tech issues before calling Armando (a dear friend 20+years later)…he taught me soooo much and I always hear his voice when I run into tech problems.

This week I was sure I’d need professional help, I was not confident I could figure this crazy issue out. Something had taken over my laptop and it was a stubborn one with crazy, continuous pop ups telling me I had multiple viruses. I shut down after my best initial efforts, slept on it, woke up with determination, and FIGURED IT OUT.

I’m proud of myself and grateful for all the lessons earlier in my career. Lessons for you are to actively listen to the SMEs at work, become self-reliant with tech, and don’t give up.

Just call me ‘Tech Jane’! 💻😂

These two C’s will lead to a third one, connection! Remember to then invite them into your LinkedIn network and do follow-ups, as appropriate.
