Events For Pets

Welcome to Events For Pets, Inc.

Events For Pets is an all volunteer 501c(3) nonprofit animal advocacy organization whose mission is to help families and individuals keep their pets by assisting with unexpected or emergency veterinary expenses and pet supplies when their pets might otherwise be euthanized, surrendered to a shelter, or rehomed. We also want to help animal rescues achieve their goals and promote animal welfare by organizing fundraising, educational, and adoption events.

Events For Pets began in 2010 as a small animal welfare organization on the west coast of Florida whose mission was to raise money to help individuals and rescues pay for emergency veterinary bills. In 2019, the original Board of Directors expressed a wish to retire and a small group of rescue volunteers asked if instead of disbanding the established nonprofit organization, they could take it over. With permission, a new Board of Directors was elected, the name was changed to Events For Pets, Inc., and the organization moved to the Tampa Bay area.

The only request we make of the families and rescues we help is that they Pay It Forward whenever possible by either: donating funds, supplies, or resources to our organization or another animal rescue if they are able; serving as a volunteer to assist with events if feasible; helping another animal in need; and most of all serving as an example of a responsible, knowledgeable pet owner so others may learn and pets will be happy and healthy in their home. Our motto is to adopt, not shop; if you can’t adopt, then foster; if you can’t foster, then donate; if you can’t donate, then educate; if you can’t educate, then advocate. There is a role in animal rescue for everyone and there are many opportunities within our organization and other area rescues where you can serve.
