Our Florida Public Sector Unions are being threatened, again, and not just our allies and friends that are Teachers. We need ALL Union Brother and Sisters on deck, tonight at 6:00pm. Being involved in these actions demonstrates whether one is simply a ticket holder or if you're a Brother or Sister. Our AFL-CIO is only as strong as our involvement in it. See you tonight on Zoom. If you don't have zoom, please install it today.

IBEW Local 824 is at a standstill with Frontier. Let's continue to show our support and Solidarity as they approach one of the most important negotiations of their careers. Some of us 915 hands had a great time standing proud at the Super Bowl picket.

Here's a solid, brief, write up on what our officers in our Local and the allies we have within our community via the Central Labor Council have been working hard on. Shout out to Shyler Morgan and Jeff Marotta for being so photogenic.
Apprentice program a good step for Tampa | Editorial Building good-paying jobs and a healthier labor market must be a priority.
If you have not been watching the 2nd Impeachment trial of former President Donald J Trump, please do so. This is a recounting of one of the most historic events of your lifetime. Attempt to watch it without bias, without fealty to a man or a political party. At no other time in the 400 year span of our Nation's history has anyone, let alone Americans, mounted an insurrection on our Capitol. To ignore what happened is to ignore what will again happen if this blind faith in party and one man who serves US, the People of the United States of America, as President for 4 to 8 years continues to live on.
The Impeachment trial is being aired and replayed on WEDU PBS Channel 3.2 and many other major networks.

This here is why we fight as Union members. Not only do we have to fight for ourselves and our livelihoods, we have a duty to stand up for those who do not get to exercise their own voice. We stand in Solidarity with ALL of the people of our communities. We the People of the State of Florida already voted to help uplift those around us. We will now allow rats like Senator Jeff Brandes to defy the will of the people. Whoever wrote this amendment for Senator Brandes never worked an honest day in their life. Senator Jeff Brandes expect to see the people unite against you and with one another if this garbage makes it close to touching a ballot.
Florida amendment would halt min. wage increase for ex-felons and workers under 21 If passed, it would reduce the minimum wage rate for prisoners in the state correctional system, employees convicted of a felony, employees younger than 21, and “hard-to-hire” employees…

Declaration of the INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS
Our cause is the cause of human justice, human rights, human security.
We refuse, and will always refuse, to condone or tolerate dictatorship or oppression of any kind.
We will find and expel from our midst any who might attempt to destroy, by subversion, all that we stand for.
This Brotherhood will continue to oppose communism, Na**sm or any other subversive "ism". Will support God, our Nation, our Union.
Apprentices and Journeyman alike, please remember our declaration before sharing corporate and anti-labor lies about increasing the minimum wage to something closer to livable. We have a duty to support the communities in which we live and work. We have a right to be angry about not getting our fair share of the pie when we bust our asses to earn a wage. But to be upset with the man or woman looking to earn something closer to a livable minimum wage is to have your anger pointed on the wrong direction. Why be upset about the man or woman looking to earn a whopping $31,200 per year before taxes? Why not be angry at the ultra-wealthy who earn over $1,000,000,000.00 per year based off of the backs of us in the working class? All of us on the working class have faced 50 years of wage stagnation while corporate profits continue to grow by leaps and bounds. Please remember the declaration of our Union before spreading falsehoods about low-wage earners and economics.
The Counterintuitive Workings of the Minimum Wage The benefits of a $15 minimum would greatly outweigh the costs.

Thank you for being here!
To all the Men and women out there who
Eat cold leftovers for lunch
Wear hard hats and steel toed boots all day
Have to be gone from their family
Work long hours outside in all weather
Sacrifice themselves for their family
Have a work ethic that doesn't quit
Work jobs they hate just to provide
I am with you. Our jobs aren't the cleanest, our language isn't the purest, but we sacrifice ourselves.
We give up so much to provide. We sacrifice our bodies, our wants always come last, our time is always limited. But we get the job done.
We are out here working for you family. We miss you.
Factory workers, oil Field, first responders, construction workers, farmers, truck drivers, railroaders, linemen, painters, welders, landscapers, etc.
Know your sacrifices are worth it.
