Did you know many stormwater ponds slowly lose storage capacity over the years?
Every storm carries sediment, dirt, and debris into the pond. Over the years, that material settles to the bottom and gradually takes up space that was originally designed to store stormwater.
That means a pond that once handled heavy rain with no issue may eventually struggle during much smaller storms. As capacity decreases, the risk of overflow, erosion, and flooding increases.
Routine inspections and sediment removal help restore capacity and keep ponds functioning the way they were designed to.
