HYPE After School Programs

We know this is a busy week for HYPE families, but this moment matters.

Lights On Afterschool is more than an event. It is a chance for our children to see their parents, families, and community show up for them.

Our children need to know they are supported while they are still children. Now is the time to be present, to celebrate them, and to show them that what they are part of matters.

Please make plans to join us for Lights On Afterschool on Friday, October 9 at 6 PM at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church.

Happy World Teachers’ Day!

Today, we celebrate the teachers, tutors, mentors, and staff who pour into our children every day.

Teaching is more than lessons and homework. It is patience, encouragement, guidance, correction, creativity, and love. The time you spend helping students learn, grow, and believe in themselves makes a lasting difference.

To every teacher and educator connected to HYPE, thank you for showing up for our children and helping them become who they are meant to be.

We appreciate you today and every day!

We want to see you MONDAY NIGHT!

October 5th at 6 PM
Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 155 Wall St., Sumter

Come meet local candidates, hear what they have to say, and learn more about the people asking to represent our community.

You do not have to know everything about politics to show up. Just come ready to listen, learn, and make informed decisions for your family.

Local leadership matters. So does showing up.

Our Civic Engagement Meeting is happening Monday, October 5 at 6PM at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.

When our families are in the room, it shows that our community cares about what is happening, who is leading, and how decisions impact our children.

At HYPE, we believe our students have ideas worth listening to.

Tl mascot. Mr. Gadson loved the idea so much that we are opened it up to students across every HYPE site.

This is what HYPE is all about: helping students build confidence, use their voices, and see that their ideas can make a real impact.

Now our students are helping us create something special for the whole HYPE community.

The big reveal will be on October 9th!

HYPE Parents, we need you in the room.

Join us for the HYPE Civic Engagement Meeting on Monday, October 5 at 6 PM at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 155 Wall St., Sumter.

This is a mandatory meeting for HYPE parents, but it is also an important opportunity for our families to show local leaders that we are paying attention.

The people who represent our community make decisions that affect our children, families, schools, neighborhoods, and everyday lives.

Let’s show up, listen, and stay informed.

HYPE Families, local elections impact everyday life.

The City of Sumter General Election is Tuesday, November 3.

In South Carolina, you must be registered at least 30 days before the election to vote. Registration by mail must also be postmarked at least 30 days before Election Day.

Local leaders help make decisions that affect our children, schools, neighborhoods, safety, programs, and families. Make sure your voter registration is up to date.

Check your registration or register here:

HYPE parents, we need you in the room. You've done it before and we can do it again!

Our Civic Engagement Forum is happening Monday, October 5 at 6 PM at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.

This is your opportunity to see and hear from people running for local office. These are the leaders who may help shape decisions that affect your family, your child’s school, your neighborhood, and your community.

Showing up matters. It sends a message that HYPE families are informed, involved, and paying attention.

Purchasing a shirt is OPTIONAL but we would love to see our students and families wearing their HYPE shirts at Lights On Afterschool on Friday, October 9 at 6 PM at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church.
