S.C. DOT postpones work on section U.S. 521 North
As there is again inclement weather forecasted for the weekend, the S.C. DOT has postponed work that was slated to get underway from Oct. 8-11.
When we are told the new dates we will share on our social media and our website.

Beginning on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, the S.C. DOT is slated to get work underway between T.B. Wright Road and Ellerbe Mill Road, and that section of U.S. 521 North will be closed.
The 6.2-mile detour will take motorists from T.B. Wright Road to S.C. 261 to Horatio-Hagood Road and back to U.S. 521 North.
The road closure is expected to be from Oct. 8-11, 2026.

Nine a.m. on Tuesday and it’s 62 degrees in Sumter County with 96 percent humidity and winds out of the northeast around 8 mph. The National Weather Service is forecasting a high today around 77 with northeast winds from 8 to 11 mph and a low tonight near 54.
