This is why I live on the Treasure Coast…

Our arrival in London, along with our first full day at the British Museum and the British Library. During this journey, I am playing the nerdy historian and my sister. Mary is playing the cool botanist. Some of the highlights of our trip to these amazing institutions were the Elgin marbles (please give them back to Greece), the Sutton Hoo helmet, the Rosetta Stone, the Magna Carta, the Emancipation Proclamation by Lincoln, lots of medieval archaeological finds that I appreciated. The Egyptian rooms were the scariest because they were filled with many many school children milling about like hordes of little Vikings.🤣

Check out our tiny hotel room tour & dance party in London 🇬🇧🤣🇬🇧 Actually it’s updated & clean & had a nice wine & cheese reception that evening. It was just a bit of a surprise coming from other hotels in England during our stay that were similar to what I’ve seen in other countries including the US. I thought it was an opportunity to have a bit of fun with the whole thing. BTW. The staff was very nice as well..

Mary & I visited the Rollright Stones in Long Compton in the general area where I believe our Compton ancestors were from hundreds of years ago. Of course the Rollright Stones go back thousands of years and I don’t think we are related to those very ancient people. In any case, it was so interesting to visit this part of England and try to imagine the types of lives our ancestors would have had and how that led to them boarding rickety wooden boats and crossing the very scary Atlantic Ocean and stepping off somewhere in Massachusetts over 350 years ago

Welcome to this priceless home…the bard himself, William Shakespeare’s birth place in Stratford Upon Avon. Plus my sister Mary and I were lucky enough to see a first run showing of the Tempest with Kenneth Branagh at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre here in Stratford-upon-Avon. One of the many highlights of our trip to England.🇬🇧❤️🇬🇧
