The Martin County School Districts Pre-K Programs are made up of Voluntary Prekindergarten and Head Start.

We are located at 11 Elementary Schools as well at 4 independent sites in Martin County. We aim to prepare our students to succeed in K and beyond! The Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program -- or VPK -- prepares early learners for success in kindergarten and beyond. VPK helps build a strong foundation for school using educational material corresponding to various stages in a child's development. The National Head Start Association is a nonprofit organization committed to the belief that every child, regardless of circumstances at birth, has the ability to succeed in life. We provide a foundation for your child's education as well as social services for the entire family.

Fall has arrived in our classroom! Our Mini Vikings strengthened their fine motor skills by tearing colorful paper and creating beautiful fall tree masterpieces. Rip art is a fun way to build the hand and finger muscles needed for future writing while encouraging creativity and self-expression. We love seeing our young learners celebrate the season through hands-on learning and art! 🍁🧑 Jensen Beach Elementary School

πŸŒŸπŸ“š Learning Walk Highlights at Warfield VPK! πŸ“šπŸŒŸ

Today, Pre-K Principal Gilbride had the pleasure of attending a professional learning experience for school administrators as part of the district's Principal Lab hosted by Warfield Elementary.

During the learning walks, administrators visited VPK classrooms (& others at WES) where they observed teachers and assistants engaging students in meaningful, back-and-forth conversations that supported language development and critical thinking.

Students were actively engaged in learning through Ready to Advance language cards, interactive discussions, hands-on activities, and purposeful play. These strategies encouraged children to expand their vocabulary, explain their thinking, ask questions, and make connections to their learning.

We are proud of our Warfield VPK team for creating engaging learning environments where young learners are thinking, talking, exploring, and growing every day! Thank you to WES’ Principal Sumner for including our rooms in the walks!! πŸ’™βœ¨ Warfield Elementary School
