Taking pictures of this half bath proved challenging.. Finally finished with custom trim work by A. O'Keefe and painted by me with SW Iron Ore. This color is certainly not for the faint of heart and caused me some panic with the first coat, but bravery paid off and I'm completely obsessed with the drama of it! It's the same color as our dining room chairs too; I recommend sprinkling the same dramatic colors throughout your home to create cohesion without feeling matchy-matchy.
From builder grade blah to dramatic and interesting finally π

Haven't posted in a while as I've taken a huge step back from taking on commissions and design clients BUT I just had to share this amazing "after" from a client! This was a tricky space that was transitioning from a formal dining room to a sitting room with deck access. The space needed to be easy to pass through to get outside but also needed a purpose all its own. We added the built in bent under the windows for seating that wouldn't be intrusive, a paneled ceiling to add a statement and pop of color, and smaller scale, neutral furniture pieces to help with function. Isn't it cozy and so high-end?!π

Clearing out some old art work! $5 for all 4 watercolors by yours truly. I created these when we sold our old house and needed to fill frames where we had family photos...

Pretty refinished mid-century chairs from my Great Aunt π
I removed and tossed the old cushions and odd plastic cushion bases. Then sanded them down and made some repairs to their structure. After sanding I realized that paint would serve to finish the look better than stain as there were some imperfections in the wood.
Tyler cut new cushion bases out of plywood then I reupholstered them using high density foam and outdoor rated fabric for easy cleaning. I left the cane back exposed for interesting texture and contrast. Paint color is SW Iron Ore and sealed with General Finishes satin.
