I finished my first peatherworking project! It's a (very) late birthday gift for a friend.

They enjoy Norse mythology, so I included some serpents on the covering flap and the world tree on the front.

"The Broken Bride"

A design I made for a boss fight for the fake video game characters I've been making, men from local villages have been going missing for quite some time. A curfew is put in place for the local men, and the heroes go to investigate. There they find the Broken Bride, a young woman who was k*lled on her wedding night. Now her vengeful spirit seeks retribution.

When I was told oil painting takes a long time to dry, I wasn't expecting an average time of 6 months. I think it's been 3. Will be using drying medium next layer lmao

"Very Demure Goblin"

Hey! I'm finally mostly recuperated from an art show I had a while back where I was selling some art! This was part of a set of two that I had made. I thought it would be very funny if I went silly cryptid/monster themed, so I decided to make a set of prints of goblins. This is the first one!

Work in progress of a snail painting I'm working on. Used acrylics for this as an underwater as I want to experiment with oils.

"Moth Eyes"

This was made using acrylic on wood, watercolour on watercolour paper and painting over fake butterflies.

This is a bit of a personal piece for me. Lately I've been thinking about moths a lot and the fragility of them. I had recently inherited a pair of wings from a friend who had found them left behind on the ground near their house. I feel like moths can also, in this way, represent the fragility of humans and our socialization with one another, how easy it can be to disrupt a relationship.

I was also reminded of Silence of the Lambs and thought of more moths covering the moth area to show miscommunication between others.

"Forest"

This piece was a bit of an experiment as I had glued two boards together and carved away the negative space between areas like the trees to give it a more dimensional feeling and then painted overtop in acrylic.
