Manassas Battlefield Park is one of our go-to portrait session locations. The open fields are perfect for photos, especially during golden hour. Katie and Brad were effortless to work with and I had a great time getting to know them a little until their big day in one year!

Alycia and Luke wanted lush, garden vibes for their engagment session since their wedding next year will be in February! Last week was definitely the perfect week for that. Everything is in peak bloom 🌷

Some highlights from our many family sessions this past week! It's a beautiful, blooming time of year. Several of these sessions were thoughtful gifts from husbands to their wives, too (yes, we offer gift cards for that ☺️).

There is no doubt that a rainbow came out just for Maura and Nathan's wedding yesterday. During our few minutes of post-storm sunset portraits, Maura pointed over our shoulders and squealed with delight: “RAINBOW!”. I truly think it was a congratulatory visit from Nathan’s parents, and a nod to Maura’s Irish heritage. What a fun day!

Let’s be honest, Saturday’s weather was brutal 🌧 It was frigid, very windy, and rain spat down every minute we were there. But we always tell our brides not to worry too much - because look how magical the photos still turn out! And we love a good excuse to break out the adorable clear umbrellas. This was our first time finally working at The Barn at Willowbrook and it did not disappoint. It’s a family-owned and operated venue in Loudoun county’s wine country and it was perfect in every way. Congratulations to this amazing couple - Sydney and Andrew. The rain didn’t dampen their spirits one bit, and we loved working with them!

We’ve been working with Ginny & Pete since 2019, thanks to Covid! After multiple postponements over the course of two years, they finally got to celebrate with their friends and family this weekend and it was epic from start to finish. The weather was perfect, tears were shed, and everyone danced the night away. We had such a great time!

I had a great time with Katie and Mark last week at Ellanor Lawrence Park. We rescheduled the original shoot due to cold and rain and I’m so glad we did! The backup date turned out to be such perfect Spring weather and lighting. They were effortless to work with and we’re looking forward to their big day one year from now at Raspberry Plain Manor!

Erin and Dan kicked off our 2022 wedding season perfectly and made our transition from fresh parenthood back to work SO fun and easy. It felt great to be back at Meadowlark gardens. It was a chilly day, but there was no rain and the blossoms were vibrant!

Obsessed with our recent Fall family sessions!! Can't believe how many cute people we get to photograph. This year is slowly winding down and our busiest season in history has left us grateful and exhausted all at the same time. Now it's time to edit about 13 weddings from the past few weeks 🤪

These two have been amazing to work with! We loved their Korean wedding yesterday and all the traditions that came with it. It was held on a perfectly crisp Fall day at one of our regular venues - Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. It's hard to believe our 2021 wedding season is winding down!

Fall colors have officially arrived in Virginia, and it's our favorite time of year to capture weddings 🍂 Congratulations to Maggie and Alec! We had a great time with them on Friday at Sylvanside Farm.

Never seen a couple more enthusiastic than Rachel and Zach on their very rainy and chilly day! Didn’t phase them one bit. Mazel tov to this amazing couple.

We are fastening our seatbelts for all of the weddings and family sessions we will be capturing in October, aka this busiest month of the year! To kick off the month, last Friday I captured our lovely 2020 wedding couple’s newborn baby, and he was sweet as can be. It was so great to see them in their exciting new role as parents.

Congratulations to Kathleen & Tony, and to the many other recent weddings we've captured this past month and haven't gotten around to sharing!!

How infectiously cute and happy are Drew and Beth? We had a great time photographing their wedding at Meadowlark Gardens this weekend. They had some of the most beautiful wedding details I've ever seen 😍

Same venue, next day, different couple! We returned to Raspberry Plain Manor on Sunday, this time to photograph Kerry & Ryan's postponed wedding. The weather was perfect for August, and everyone was in such good spirits the entire day. These two were truly glowing after their ceremony!

James and Nikki had their wedding 2.0 this weekend - this time around with all of their friends and family! We had a fantastic time with them and the talented vendor team at Raspberry Plain Manor.

I met with Samantha and Jeff last week at sunrise on a super hot day, but luckily we beat most of the heat (and crowds) by starting early! I loved their outfits and their energy. There is something so special about DC at sunrise.

Congratulations to Savannah & Jacob! We got to enjoy the beautiful Virginia mountain backdrop all day thanks to the storms holding off. Their day was full of so many amazing military and religious traditions.

Our second wedding of the weekend was just as amazing. Torrential downpours were followed by the a diffused, golden sunset out on the dock. We loved the beach-y vibe at this venue! So happy for Christine and Daniel, another couple that is FINALLY husband and wife after postponing.

First up from the weekend, we have Kaitlyn and Michael's romantic wedding at Airlie. These two are some of the most genuinely kind people we've ever met and, like you'll hear us say the rest of the year, we're so glad this couple finally got to have their wedding after such a long wait!

It feels like forever ago that Craig and Patricia booked us for their wedding..because it kinda was! Due to Covid, of course, their wedding was pushed back a year. Kate & Ben had their small ceremony last year but it did not take away from their epic reception this year! They got creative and did dramatic reception entrances, a choreographed first dance, played their video we made for them last year on a big screen, and displayed their written vows from last year on a beautiful enlarged poster. Rachel and Zach giggled their entire engagement session with me at the Tidal Basin! They were so natural and effortless together that I barely did much posing. Rachel is a high school friend of mine and she runs along the Tidal Basin often. Ryan and I will be doing their lovely wedding this Fall!
