Pride partying pause:
In 2017, black and brown stripes were added to the Pride flag to address the lack of visibility facing q***r People of Color (PoC). A year later, Daniel Quasar intentionally placed those stripes and the trans flag into an arrow pointing toward our future on what is now the Progress Flag.
​A reminder that even within marginalized spaces, privilege often creates blind spots.
​Pride was built on the backs of trans women of color. When celebrations become entirely white and cis-centric as we're presently seeing, they erase the very people who built the foundation. You erase our words, our history, and our truth.
​We live in a vibrant, diverse community within the Commonwealth, and you deserve to see yourselves reflected in the spaces built for you. State Queens will continue centering the voices that make us whole. To our PoC and Trans community, we love you, we see you, and you will always find love at our events✊🏽🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Dear State College/Penn State friends,

This is a post I've both dreaded making for months, but with small glimpses of excitement as well. After 9 years as the State Queens show director, my time in State College is coming to a close. At the end of July my partner and I will be relocating to Central New Jersey, as my partner has accepted a position at Princeton University.

My amazing drag kid, Milkshake, will be taking over the hosting. Support her. Tell her she's pretty. She needs to hear that (Lord knows she didn't get comedy from me). Shows will still be happening, I will still be organizing from behind the scenes and will still be your contact. You might even see me return for a few shows.

This Arts Fest will be my last event as a State College local.

I'm excited for what this new chapter will bring, but I'm going to miss the home that's always given me love and community. This surely isn't 'goodbye' . Merely, 'I'll see you soon' 🩷
