Ray Dray Presents

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of channeling Ruth and Lena Younger of Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin in the Sun” for an independent study exploring the leading Black man in the theatrical cannon. The past 6 weeks of delving in to these characters and the text were a master class that I did not see coming. Marcus A. Jordan and Wendell Franklin, I thank you for the opportunity to grow as an actress.

I gotta shout out my mommy, .aaron.52. She is one of the quiet giants behind the Whew Chile! Black Women Working project. She displayed her beautiful needle art in the Rhythm, Rest and Revolution gallery, made my pink p***y hat for the Black women vs. Feminism freestyle battle, and also made my white evening gown for “Free” and Issa’s dress for curtain call- NO PATTERN! Then Sis made 3 peach cobblers for folks to enjoy during intermission. My mother is a brilliant artist, my cheerleader and an amazing human. Mommy, thank you for giving me life and then making it worth living.
