Kaylee Cargle's Bright Horizons story started when she brought her 12-week-old son, Henry, to the Tiny Tracks Children's Center. ✨

We build pattern pictures using tangrams (pattern blocks). The children worked on copying simple to more complex pictures, changing the orientation of the blocks to fit the pictures. Children also learned to recognize and name shapes, then combining them to form new shapes.

Developing spatial and body awareness, children draw while laying on their bellies. This helps them gain a sense of where they are positioned and how much space their body takes up while allowing them to move and draw in a way that suits them best. Providing big sheets of paper gives them the space to draw and move freely.

Many children enjoy arranging or lining up materials in a certain way. Though this may seem like a simple way to play, it promotes persistence as children follow through on a task, visual-spatial awareness, and helps develop hand-eye coordination. The way children choose to line up objects also demonstrates inventiveness in thinking.
