COMING INTO WINTER THIS CAR WILL NOT LAST LONG!
Prepairing for the weekend weather!
Rain-triggered misfires are usually caused by moisture entering weak points in the ignition system — such as cracked spark plug wires, worn coil boots, or damp connectors — which allow high-voltage electricity to leak instead of firing the spark plug
HAPPY FALL! Reminder to think about those tires! this is the time of year cool night and warm days that make your tire pressure fluctuate!

Key Steps to Winterize Your Vehicle
1. Inspect and Maintain Tires
• tire pressure can fluctuate in the winter. Be sure your tire pressure is to specs. Even a couple of pounds higher is ok.
• Ensure tread depth is at least 2/32", though 4/32" is better for snow. Any lower could have you going off the road or sliding around.
• Consider studded winter tires for improved traction.
2. Battery
• Test battery health; cold weather reduces capacity significantly.
• Replace if 3–5 years old or weak to avoid no-starts.
• Clean terminals and check the charging system.
3. Fluids
• Engine oil: Be sure your oil changes are on time. full and clean.
• Coolant/antifreeze: Maintain a 50/50 mix; protects to about -20°F.
• Washer fluid: Use winter blend rated to -20°F or colder.
• Top off all fluids (brake, transmission, power steering).
4. Visibility & Lighting
• Install winter wiper blades and ensure defrosters work.
• Check all exterior lights and replace dim bulbs or restore headlights with a buffing
• Inspect belts and hoses for cracks or soft spots.
• Check brakes for wear or pulling.
• Fix any check-engine codes before cold weather worsens issues.
• Check exhaust system for leaks to prevent carbon monoxide hazards.
6. Winter Driving Essentials
• Keep fuel tank at least half full you don’t want to be caught in a traffic issue or off the road and run out of gas.
• Always Have your emergency bag in your vehicle.
Car Preparedness Bag
We live in Maine. We are considered an extreme environment because we have 4 seasons. Winter tends to be the one season that can plage us the most.
You should always have your car ready in case you break down or get stuck in the snow. Even if it is only an hour you can get hypothermia.
• Shovel
• Something to clean your vehicle off from snow and ice
• Extra windshield washer fluid for winter
• Healthy snacks and water (water left overnight will probably freeze)
• First aid kit
• Blanket
• Flashlight and extra batteries
• Pocket knife or multi-tool
• Good spare tire, jack and lug wrench
• Flares or reflectors
• Battery jumper cables
• Brightly colored cloth for emergency flagging
• Cell phone with emergency phone numbers programmed and spare charger
• Extra boots, gloves, socks and warm hat rain or waterproof gear
• Always have at least a half tank of gas in winter, and fill up before a storm
