Leigh Ledare: The Plot—Ruttenberg Contemporary Photography Series | The Art Institute of Chicago 09/09/2017

Leigh Ledare (WFP 9/07; 11/10) has his first solo museum exhibition in the United States as part of the Ruttenberg Contemporary Photography Series at the Art Institute of Chicago. The installation includes a new film directed by Ledare, The Task, depicting a three-day conference organized by the artist in Chicago using group psychology methods to investigate individual authority and identity within a 30-person group. The film is accompanied by a series of photographs and assemblages of found mass media images, which act as allegories to the film's chapters.
