Pool safety with little ones isn’t one decision — it’s layers.

After a scary close call with our toddler, we realized how quickly accidents can happen…even when you already have precautions in place. It pushed us to add another layer of protection around our pool much sooner than planned.

These are the 3 pool safety layers that gave us the most peace of mind:

• high door latches
• a self-closing perimeter fence
• a removable safety fence around the pool

We also believe in:

• swim lessons + water safety education
• active adult supervision
• teaching kids to ask before entering the water

Mother’s Day weekend 🤍

Lately, I’ve been slowly learning to surrender…
to slower mornings, fuller homes, messy schedules, and more presence over productivity.

And this weekend filled my heart in all the best ways.

Cheering on the mamas in every season and a gentle reminder: we were never meant to do motherhood alone. 🤍

Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, who has more patience than anyone I know and reminds me that mothering never stops (even when we are adults) 💐

There are moments you don’t plan for.

When we built our home in 2016, we talked about wide hallways, clearances, and flow…

But we didn’t know those choices would one day hold someone we love in the middle of something this big.

My brother-in-law is here with us—
6 hours from his home, his kids—navigating an intense, months-long process just to qualify for a groundbreaking CAR-T study for multiple sclerosis.

Today, he receives his infusion.

And we’re standing in the in-between…
grateful, hopeful, and unsure of what comes next.

What I do know is this:

Design matters in ways you don’t fully understand…until you do.

The ramps.
The space to move.
The independence to make a smoothie, to enter a home, to be part of everyday life.

This is what accessible, universal design really means.

Not someday.
Not “just in case.”
But for real life—now and the days ahead.

If your family has been touched by MS, we are praying this is a step toward something bigger. 🤍

And I’ll keep sharing, designing, and advocating—
so more homes can hold moments like this.
