Recently I made a ketubah for and

For those who donโ€™t know a Ketubah means โ€œwrittenโ€ and has come to refer to the Jewish marriage contract. An ancient document, the ketubah represented an advancement in womenโ€™s status by protecting the rights of the bride. In its original form, the ketubah specified such things as the dowry and the groomโ€™s responsibility to support his wife. Today itโ€™s seen as a symbolic gesture between the bride and groom to show their love โค๏ธ and support for each other.

This is my second time making one. The only requirement I was given was that it should have animals on it. So the work was inspired by looking at Native American printmaking techniques, a horse I saw while staying at the .artist.residency and Janieโ€™s interest in the Leather Archives.
