You did it! Congratulations on Graduating High School! From your first day of Kindergarten to walking across the stage last night, there hasn’t been a single moment where I haven’t felt immense pride. You’ve shown your hard work, dedication and commitment all throughout your school journey, even when it felt impossible. The woman you’ve grown into is one I am so incredibly proud of. Sometimes I look at you and I think, what the hell, how did she turn out so incredible?!?
You are intelligent, kind hearted, hard working, creative and passionate. All traits that will take you far in life. I know you have plans for your future, and I can’t wait to see where they take you.
Being your Mom has been the greatest joy of my life. Thank you for always giving me patience and grace, for growing up WITH me while we figured out what life was about and for being the worlds most amazing big sister to Lana, she needs you more then she says.
Go out there, take the world by storm, and have fun doing it!

Violet is a character who I connect with so deeply; the way she loves, her loyalty to her family and friends, and her unstoppable determination. It resonates. But most of all, Violet makes me feel seen. Seen in a way I’ve never been before.
Violet is for the girls, like me, who grew up fighting to stand on equal ground (physically) as their peers. Who had to work 100 times harder to achieve things that seemed to come naturally to others. Who spend more days than not battling the body they were born into. Violet takes all of it, all of the things I thought made me inherently wrong, like pieces were missed when putting me together, and makes them into strengths.
Representation matters, I’ve always believed that, but I had never seen myself portrayed on page until this series.
I will always feel a little bit of imposter syndrome when portraying FMCs, but for the first time, probably ever, I feel at home in my body while in a costume.
If you’ve ever met someone with EDS, or want a look into what living with hypermobility looks like, the Empyrean series is a great place to get that view and still get your dragons in.
