Soโฆ what does an ombudsman actually do? ๐ค
An ombudsman is an advocate for people living in long-term care.
They help residents understand their rights, listen when something isnโt going right, investigate concerns and complaints, and work with residents and facilities to resolve problems.
Think of them as a residentโs advocate and a resource when they need someone in their corner.
And if youโre not living in long-term care but are trying to figure out your options, thatโs where VOYCEconnect comes in. Our specialists can help you understand different levels of care, provide general information about paying for care, and connect you with resources to help you make informed decisions.
Different needs, different kinds of support โ but one goal: helping people navigate long-term care with more information, confidence and advocacy.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for Decades Trivia Night last Friday! Whether you came dressed to impress, brought an incredible table spread, or single-handedly kept us in business by buying *way* too many mulligans (you know who you are ๐), you made the night one to remember.
Most importantly, thank you for supporting VOYCE and helping us continue advocating for older adults and individuals living in long-term care. Every ticket, mulligan, and 50/50 entry helps make a difference.

What if we've been thinking about grief all wrong?
In the episode of We're at the Age, Rev. Dr. Julie Strassman challenges the idea of happiness vs heartbreak. Instead, she offers a perspective that's both comforting and deeply human.
This conversation explores faith, connection, community, and what truly carries us through life's most difficult seasons.
๐ If you've ever experienced loss, cared for someone you love, or wondered how to find hope without pretending everything is okay, you won't want to miss this one.

"Good vibes only."
We hear it all the timeโbut what if real resilience isn't about pushing away the hard stuff?
In next week's episode of We're at the Age, Rev. Dr. Julie Strassman shares why life isn't about choosing joy or grief. It's about making room for both.
Because the truth is, aging, caregiving, and simply being human means holding love, loss, hope, and heartbreak at the same time.
๐ If you've ever needed permission to feel it all, this conversation is one you won't want to miss.
