Happy cheese day!! I pulled these from a magazine I wrote a few years ago.

Charcuterie refers to cooked, cold, Italian meats 😊😊

If these aren't on the board, it's a cheese board.

Both are delicious!!

Here are a few I've made of both:) 💜💜💜

I was excited to get my package from Snow Fairy ASMR today!! This is a $50 mystery box and I was surprised to have so much chalk inside!! It's perfectly packaged, arrived quickly, and contained a large variety of shape, size, and color. I absolutely recommend her page if ASMR is your thing.

I'm also excited to use these to make my own reforms at home!!

I will also post a crush video so you can all see how they look when I use them!!

For now, I did crush one to test it (how could I not??) and loved it.

Thank you so much Snow Fairy!!

I especially appreciated the free glitter and pigment to use for my crush and reforms!! 💜💜💜

My son had so much fun hand making cards with me last night!!

I thought, I'm sure some of my small business friends are teachers!

So I just wanted to give a quick shout out and thank you for everything you do.

It's a pain to hand type it (because hashtags like to default lower case), but it's worth the accessibility it brings!

What else do you like to do to make your pages for accessible for others?

...And now, for something a little bit different than the recent book promotions!

How many of you follow Myke on his gardening page? I will link in the comments since Facebook is a jerk about tagging sometimes.

This project started last fall, and it took a ton of work, so I am going to give you a new subject to get tired of me posting. It's a time-lapse of this incredibly fun project I had the privilege of working on.

As a quick disclaimer, I help with the content design side of things; all of the art is hand-drawn by Myke!

Enjoy! Day One (of posting, not of the project!)- Creating Seed Packets for Gardening

I've been beta reading for a close friend today for a heavy subject matter that has made frequent breaks necessary. He's a brilliant author who has had success with his fantasy series but has recently chosen to tell something far more personal.

As an abuse survivor myself, I am aware of the uncomfortable energy that normally surrounds our society when this topic comes up. People aren't really sure what to say or do. They just want it to be over with. It's very telling with posts as well because the most engagement almost always comes from entertainment or memes. While serious or heavy topics are often ignored if seen at all.

People are loving horror movies more and more because seeing trauma as entertainment is easier than trying to actually listen to someone who has experienced some of those awful things. Sometimes I really struggle to process that.

I am willing to bet I'll have someone not want to comment because of the word s**t in the image I made to go with this.

It's an easy out. Because if you really thought about it, s**t is a “dirty” word. Yet it doesn't even come close to something as socially dirty as the words:

R4pe
Mol3sted
Smacked Around
St4lked

The word is cleaner than the words it is describing here and easier to talk about. The shoe doesn't just fit for the usage of s**t, it's a Cinderella slipper.

I remember when I first saw Horrible Bosses the movie and one character is being sexually harassed by his female boss but his friends just tease him because that sounds awesome to them.

It's not for the person developing trauma issues from being stuck in a situation where nobody believes them or takes it seriously.

It's not for the person afraid to report abuse because their abuser convinces them nobody will believe them.

It's not for the abuser watching it and reaffirming that they are safe and welcome in our society.

I understand that it's heavy.

I understand that it feels uncomfortable.

I understand that it will be awkward to accept these broken voices in to tell their stories of abuse.

You don't have to fix them. You don't even have to say anything. Sometimes all someone needs is to have the space to not be okay. For someone to believe them.

When Steven Spielberg was working on Schindler's List, he became so depressed that Robin Williams would call him just to tell jokes.

It didn't matter if he laughed or engaged much in return. It wasn't about that. It was about carrying a burden with a friend. That's what I am hoping these beta readers have done for Alex. He's an amazing person carrying this burden of writing his story.

He doesn't want or need attention from it or this post. However he, and all of us sharing our stories do want you to keep in mind that if you have friends with major trauma, they will have bad days. They will just need space to not be okay. Please be that safe space for them. Believe them. Forget about all the judgements and misconceptions surrounding these topics.

I love you all! Just wanted to share a few thoughts.

Please let me know! I still have plenty and it's for one of my college classes. All you need is a Kindle and to give me a good email for you 😊

It's not a light subject but it is the campaign I chose to work on given its closeness to my own novel.

It's first come first served but like mentioned at the top, I still have plenty.

I hope everyone is off to a great week!
