For a project like the Kirkwood Ice Rink, the concrete pour represents one of the most collaborative milestones on the jobsite.

From suppliers and pump operators to finishers and project teams, dozens of professionals worked together to place the rink slab, which contains nearly 12 miles of refrigeration piping that will help maintain the future ice surface.

The slab is now undergoing a 14-day wet curing process that helps maximize the concrete's strength and durability.

At the Clayton Municipal Maintenance Facility project, our Safety Stand Down for Mental Health Awareness continues as we emphasize the importance of prioritizing mental health on every jobsite.

ICP President Scott Zola joined the project team to remind everyone to stay grounded, be present, and reach out for support when needed. In addition to Safety Stand Downs, ICP is sharing stickers and keychains to encourage daily awareness and conversation around mental well-being.

Construction is a high-risk environment that requires focus, presence, and trust among teammates. We can’t show up for each other at our best if we’re not also taking care of our mental health alongside our physical safety.

We hope this campaign opens the door to a bigger message: looking after your well-being is part of the work.

Yesterday at the Boys & Girls Club project site in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, ICP President Scott Zola joined the project team to highlight the importance of mental health awareness, focusing on reducing stigma, recognizing challenges, and knowing how to access support during Mental Health Awareness Month.

Safety extends beyond the physical environment. Staying focused, present, and connected as a team begins with supporting the well-being of the people behind the work. Lunch was provided as a small token of appreciation for the team’s dedication in bringing this project to the finish line.

Prioritizing mental health doesn’t have to be complicated. It can start with something as simple as taking a moment to rest.
