Saturday wrapped up the Family Caregivers Initiative Project, and my heart is full. 🩵

The Caregivers Workshop Series on Sept 19th was offered, during the Health Resource Fair, held in partnership with Friendly Temple’s Family & Friends Day. The Caregivers Workshop Series is held every 3rd Saturday at Friendly Village. On Sept 4 and Sept 10, the Family Caregivers Initiative project was held at Wesley House. We welcomed family caregivers who give so much of themselves to care for the older adults they love.

Caregiver burden is real. So many caregivers are exhausted, stretched thin, and quietly carrying stress, guilt, and grief while making sure everyone else is okay. Our sessions focused on four things every caregiver deserves:

📚 Education to care with confidence
🤝 Support from a caring community
💪 Empowerment to build strength, resilience, and self-care
🧭 Resources for themselves and their loved ones

The most powerful moments came when caregivers realized they weren't alone. Many of the people in the room had never been asked, "How are YOU doing?"

Thank you to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Gamma Omega Chapter and The Wesley House Association for partnering with Benignity to make this series possible, and thank you to every caregiver who showed up for yourself.

If your church, community organization, workplace, or healthcare team would benefit from a caregiver burden workshop, I'd love to bring one to you. Reach out to me at Benignity LLC: Arnesia F. Terrell MA, CDP, CPG, CADDCT, CST-P, [email protected] or 314-492-3363.

You care for them. Let us care for you.🩵

I'm beyond excited to share a special project that is very close to my heart. 🩵

LaNisha Martin (Passion LLC) and I have been working hard behind the scenes to bring our event, The Cognitive Collective: Dementia & Aging Care Conference Day to life — a two-day event dedicated to dementia care, aging support, and the families and professionals who show up for this work every single day.

Here's what we've got planned:

🧠 Day One — August 28th, 11 AM–3 PM at Benignity LLC!
A half-day seminar packed with amazing panels and speakers covering the latest in dementia care, caregiver support, and aging well. This is for the professionals, caregivers, and anyone hungry to learn more.

🤝🏾 Day Two — August 29th, 11 AM–3 PM at Unfailing Love Church!
A community resource fair, open to seniors and families across St. Louis. Think local doctors, authors, aging professionals, screenings, resources, food, and connection — all in one place, all free.

Dementia and aging touch so many of our families, and we both believe deeply that education, community, and compassion are how we move this work forward. The Cognitive Collective is our way of bringing that belief to life — and we can't wait to share it with you.

Please scan the QR codes to register! We are looking for vendors for both days, students, professionals, and community members are welcome! We are also offering 3 Continuing Education Hours for professionals and half page advertisements to go into the event booklets for professionals and for the community! Let's make this an event to remember! Secure your spots now! 🩵

I'm so grateful to share this news. 🩵

I am beyond honored to annouce that Benignity LLC has been selected to join the 2026–2027 cohort of the Caregiver Innovation Council (CIC) at Caregiver Action Network, the nation's leading family caregiver organization!

Benignity was born out of love — in memory of the family members I lost to Alzheimer's and vascular dementia. My heart has always been to reach dementia caregivers not just here in St. Louis, but across the country, and this opportunity brings that vision so much closer to reality.

The CIC brings together people with lived caregiving experience and innovators working to support the 63+ million family caregivers nationwide. Grateful to be part of this community, and to everyone who has supported Benignity along the way — thank you.

Excited for what's ahead. 🩵

🙏🏾Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.🩵

Running Benignity LLC has been such a rewarding journey. Through my dementia education seminars, I’ve had the privilege of teaching families, caregivers, and communities how to better understand and support loved ones living with dementia — and every Google review reminds me why this work matters so much.

If you’ve attended one of my dementia education seminars, watched me teach, or worked with me in any capacity, I’d be so honored if you shared your experience. It helps other families find the support they need, and it helps me keep growing this work.

Please reach out to me if you would like to participate in Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care seminars and other educational and consulting opportunities!

Thank you for being part of the Benignity community. 🩵

🦁 STL, I am honored and humbled to stand at the forefront of a movement that is long overdue.

Long-term care reform is not a talking point — it is a moral imperative. Behind every nursing home door, every assisted living facility, every memory care unit, there is a human being deserving of dignity, respect, and protection. And I am committed to fighting for each and every one of them right here in St. Louis.

R.O.A.R. 2026 — Respect. Oversight. Advocacy. Reform — is a first-of-its-kind national movement, and Missouri is answering the call.

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, communities across this great nation will rise together for the inaugural National Long-Term Care Reform Day. This is not just a walk. This is a declaration — that we will no longer stand by while our most vulnerable are overlooked, underserved, and unheard.

Our elders built this world. Our disabled community members strengthen it. They deserve more than survival — they deserve dignity.

STL, I need you with me. Walk with me. Stand with me. ROAR with me.

🌟 What an inspiring afternoon at the St. Louis County Older Adults Commission Annual Meeting!
I had the privilege of attending today and walking away feeling more motivated than ever about the work ahead.
It was wonderful to connect with the amazing Ms. Cookie, an active and passionate advocate for older adults in our community. Her dedication is contagious and a true testament to what showing up for others looks like.
A sincere thank you to Councilwoman Shalonda Webb and the rest of the council for creating space for our community’s voices to be heard. Watching petitions be received and action being moved forward for seniors in St. Louis County was both humbling and encouraging.
As the founder of Benignity LLC, these moments fuel my purpose. Our mission is to train and equip seniors, families, caregivers, and professionals to provide high-quality, person-centered care for those living with Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia. Being in rooms like this — surrounded by people who genuinely care about our aging community — affirms that we are all in this together.
Every seat at the table matters. I’m grateful I had one today. 💙
